Description From Dragonsfire Moo, Fort Weyr. A'dien's bronze Sanuyeth. The inspiration was built on a mountain lion, so I used a picture of a leaping lion as the start point for the line drawing, which I scanned in and colored with PSP 7.0.

A redline is when someone takes your picture and goes over it in a bright color to outline your mistakes and give you a better idea of how to fix them.

For example:

And then

Because a friend went over it with a pen on the computer and showed me my mistakes.

Haha, I liked him alot too but I wanted to make him into lineart for the RP I used to be with. No one used it but I was pretty proud of it. I had to help me out along the way though.

Hello MarySeif! I don't know that you can compare the way you draw and the way I draw. I could _not_ do what you do. It has, in fact taken me years and years and years and years of trying and I feel like, as of October, I have /finally/ got the basic hang of dragons (and I'm very picky about dragons and how they should look). --That said, I still need a picture of a bird in front of me and a model horse that I use for body, next to me, and the really funny thing is that something finally clicked after I spent about an hour perusing a book on how to draw Manga characters. I love your brown dragon, the way. But, I will post a couple of my line drawings, so you can see the stages. Actually, this whole computer thing is new to me, and I'm an old fashion acrylic on canvas type person. Anyway, thank you thank you.

I couldn't have done my dragons without the help of friends and redlines. Though I really should work up the patience to start drawing again. It's been a while since I have. I'd love to see your process!

And it's interesting that you use a horse as the model for the body, as Anne originally intended the dragons to be equine or bovine in body shape in appearance. So you're doing it right ^^

I use the Breyer "silver" mold, as it's all stretched out. Kinaldeth has a much more horse-head than the rest of them, but I am particular to the cover art of one of the artists (shame on me I don't know who) but it's the one where the dragons are pretty realistic looking, with lots of purple and lavender and orange and futuristic backgrounds.

What is redlines?

Do start drawing again. I quit for years. YEARS. Then picked it up again and tried painting with acrylics. I have made a couple thousand dollars doing pet portraits, though I quit that again this last year, and took a sketching class, which rekindled my interest in that.
