Description
When I'm sick and under the weather I'll sometimes have rather odd, unusual, one-off dreams. This week while recovering from my bout of crud I had a dream one evening which was set in a fantasy, sword and sorcerer, Heavy Metal, anthropomorphic, MLP setting. In that dream Rarity was the leader of a flight of mercenary dragon riders that served Princess Celestia. Riding a much larger and grownup Spike she and her forces patrolled the borders and mountains of Equestria.
The rest of the Mane Six along other characters from the show and my household or Petina, Carousel, and Sky Brush were in it as well.

My first thought was "It's Red Rarity!" Then, "Wait, shouldn't that be White Rarity?"

Well I must say that sounds like an great dream. With the example above it would be amazing to be get to explore it.
Seeing Rarity as a bad ass is just great. Would like her to see her in proper combat armor but this works well enough.

This dream was classic Boris Vallejo, Frank Franzetta, Heavy Metal chainmail bikini fantasy, so yeah it was lacking in realistic armor.

Let's not forget the likes of Sal Buscema and Ernesto Chan, without whose art and detailing the adventures of the She-devil with a sword and the Hyborian (anti-)hero would have only been half-worth reading.

Baron, was that the buff "knight body" Spike Rarity was riding, or was it closer to "Greedy" Spike?

He was bulky, moved on four legs and had gigantic bat wings that he flew with.

This looks more Red Sonja than dragon rider. (And the latter tends to make me think of Pern, which would make Rarity a weyrwoman riding a gold dragon!)

Now that dream sounds like it was one worth having. And of course Rares looks magnificent.
And describing it as being like 'Heavy Metal' makes me wonder who from the show would make a good Captain Sternn from the movie.
