Description

Celestia is often seen, even in my Equestria dreamscape, as being more the diplomat and mother figure who has helped nurture the kingdom. However it should be remembered that one of the most dangerous things to do is to threaten a mother's children. Celestia prefers to use magic in combat, but she does get time in the practice hall. Here we see the Princess of the Sun getting some practice in and she will need it during the Royal wedding.  One of her regular sparring partners is Quick Silver.

I would not want to spar with Celestia, under any situation. The sheer difference in mass means a single flick can leave a bruise!

She only spars with professionals for that exact reason.

And if Good!Celestia and Luna are dangerous, one wonders how nasty the Mirror-verse evil versions are.

I have a theory that the final, "wasteland" bad future we see in the season 5 finale is the result of Celestia going full-on Daybreaker and deciding to just nuke everything and be done with it.

I can easily see that happening. "Oh, that's it, I am THROUGH with this manure!"

I thought Celly settled her fights by incinerating the first idiot, er, attacker, and then politely asking the rest if they want to give up, or shall she forward their final wishes to their loved ones?

It's always been my headcanon that given her age, experience, magical abilities(she moves the friggin sun people!)and physical stature that Celestia would be an absolutely devastating force to be reckoned with,a one mare army capable of single-hoofedly decimating any force foolish enough to threaten her domain and it's citizens.

Bottom line,DON'T mess with Mama Celly,or chances are it's the last thing you'll ever do.

Yeah in my dreamscape she can be devastating as well, but for her bigger attacks she sometimes needs quite a bit of time to set up for it.

Is Quicksilver moving at full speed during the entire sparring bout (movement, attacks, defense), or just during evasions to make sure Celestia doesn't have to worry about turning her into a smear?

The former would mean that Celestia can move very quickly indeed.   And that watching the battle between Celestia and Chrysalis was like watching a battle between ponified Neo and a ponified Agent at Bullet Time speeds...

Quick Silver was full out during the sparring, but Celestia had magical means counteracting the mare's speed. And you are correct the battle between Chrysalis, Celestia, and her Mares-in-Waiting was epic.

Then Good Luck to you in replicating that scene in your art.   Petina DeMouse is going to have to run her Squirrel Cage of Inspiration up to full speed to help you get through that mess.

Yeah it fight actually will have to be handled over multiple postings and at the same time there is all the other combats go in the chapel.

I've seen some fan animations that show Canterlot being turned into a full-scale war zone with civilians having to quite literally fight for their lives due to the Royal Guard being overwhelmed by the attack. I'm assuming your dreamscape had something along these lines as well?

Baron-Engel In reply to Orca19904 [2019-04-06 04:53:43 +0000 UTC]

Something like that. The attack wasn't just in Canterlot but across Equestria. However the attack on Equestria was the most concentrated, and the Battle of the Chapel as it will become known was particularly ferocious. The only fighting that was worse was in the Command Center.

I also get the impression that Thorax is going to have an even bigger mountain to climb in order to be accepted by ponies than he did in the show, once your dreamscape gets to that point, of course.

Oh yeah. The changelings are going to have a very, very rough time winning her trust.

I was thinking more about pre-transformation Thorax when he first meets Spike, but I can imagine he'll still have his work cut out for him in terms of pony/changeling diplomacy even after transforming and becoming the new leader of his race.

I also hope that Celestia and the others are as understanding of Spike's decision to befriend Thorax as they are in the show.

Imagine how deadly in hand-to-hand combat you'd be if you'd practiced it for 1000 years and you were twice the size and strength of anyone who might challenge you. Celestia scares me.

It's a shame the show can't allow physical violence because of its age rating.

Baron-Engel In reply to Mackeroth [2018-07-04 20:55:47 +0000 UTC]

Celestia is not as combat focused as say Luna, but you are correct a 1000+ years of experience means when you do decide to be physical you can be a force to be reckoned with. The fight between Celestia and Chrysalis during the Royal Wedding in my dreamscape was much longer and messier.

Just nickname her Kenshiro. And pray she doesn't use 'The Hundred Crack Fist of The North Star" on you.
