Description Image done for the Artbook Exodyssey, the idea is to have a new kind of extreme sport on the Moon which takes advantage of the low gravity, the Floaters can inflate a Bubble-bag just before touching the ground and enjoy some crazy jumps! Photoshop painting.

Looks like fun. Another idea I've seen is human powered wings inside the domed cities- People might be able to actually fly on the moon

I had heard once that, given an atmosphere (meaning that this would have to be done inside a man-made structure on the moon) one could take advantage of the low gravity and hang-glider like wings on your arms that you can flap to fly like a bird would on Earth.

It's fun to think about all of the kinds of extreme sports one might be able to do on the moon.

Cool painting but the idea with the floating won't work. Actually when you jump, you would get a faster free fall as on earth because there is no air resistance on the moon

This. A million times this.

You just accelerate slower. I think it's like 1/6th the rate.

This, however, does not mean that you can just jump from 6 times the height and survive, because there's all kinds of stupid math involving acceleration curves and stuff that I'm not inclined to delve into right now.

But the gist of it is that it's the rapid deceleration on impact that kills you (or your free-fall speed, if you wanna be simple), not the height or your weight.

It's just instead of the death-speed being reached by 9.8m/s^2, it's reached at something like 1.6m/s^2

Awesome painting! Just a pity its about mucking around on the moon instead of exploring (and I don't mean the boring exploration NASA goes out of its way to front to us).. the concept reminds me of this brilliant a short film called 'MODERN TIMES' by Ben Craig set on & around the moon
