Description 1:72 assembly kit by "AMC Models" which I assembled, glued, colored and put into a scenery.

Something I came across and thought "Oh hmm nice, I'll pick it up."

Well, I was disappointed.

This is a bad kit.
The main hull parts are bent and don't fit well together as you can see from the gap in the front. Details are somewhat poor. Gun is not moveable. No decals included.
The builder is obliged to drill holes into the roadwheels to make them fit on short, round and rather fat suspension nipples.
Tracks are rubber, but for some reason there are two parts per side, with some single track links for the idler and drive wheel in between the long parts.

There are some good points however that are worth mentioning:
The kit includes a good amount of photo-etch parts, for example for the gun barrel (the little holes that give the sturmtiger mortar it's "pepperbox" look), for the motor grid and for the ammo crane.
There is Zimmerit modelled on, but only on the lower hull and not on the superstructure. This seems to be due to this kit sharing parts with a Bergetiger kit from the same company.

Conclusion: There might have been good intentions and ideas behind this kit, but that does not console for the bad quality of the plastic parts. I do not recommend to buy this, unless you want to build a wreck.

This kit reminds me of a kit from the Eastern Express.
Parts not suitable to each other.
Details was very bad.
But there were decals, which are very poorly glued.
And there was no photo-etch details.

About your model:
Well, with slits nothing to be done.
Camo,tracks and color are exellent.

Thanks. Hmm, came across eastern express kits a few days ago, good thing I didn't buy them I guess!

Actually, it's a Short-Run model. 99% of such are literally pain in the arse, when attempted to build. (had my share of experience, mostly  MilitaryWheels, ACEmodel,)  "Backyard producers" in modelling terminology.

Well, at least you managed to sculpt-out something decent from the kit.

IMAO the top waste of money is buying resin model, especially such, which is moulded from !Silicone forms! (Maxx pro >ARMADA hobby "models " *wink* YAY for Hungary)
Building anything from is near-suicide, in my case there were whole parts missing , several parts were different as denoted in instructions, existing ones had bubbles, hull parts bent, details were flooded with resin, ecetera..ad nauseam.

But there are exceptions. Sooo rare, but are.

I don't like it, even though I tried my best. Originally I wanted to make it look like a post apocalyptic vehicle (sort of like what if germany had "received" a few nuclear bombs by america) but even that failed so I left it like it is now.

Hmm I can imagine it's bad if resin is not handled well by the producers, but I have a few resin kits (Modelltrans and WSW) and they are fine.

There's always option of making new Trumpeter sturmtiger, definitely much less demanding build

Sure.. there are rules and excepions among resin producers.

BAAAAAAD. Actually, I was going to make it look like a post-apocalyptic thing but not even that worked out so well.

I like the camo on it. These things did not have zimmerit on the upper parts. Just the lower parts.

Oh? Strange. Why?

The fighting compartment of the Sturmtiger was built upon the upper hull of some converted late model Tiger I's. By the time the Sturmtiger was put in use, zimmerit was no longer applied to vehicles for the most part.

Hehe as I could imagine from when you told me about it xD Horrible kit there, you need to be stoned to build this model xD

Yes it's really really sad. When trying to force this into shape I even got jumped by "exloding" parts (because the tension was too much) so it was not even possible to bend this into proper shape while constructing.

I feel your pain I have built my fair share of bad kits model company's don't always get it right and sometimes it depends on who they hire to mold it.

It was really a sad build because the photo-etch parts show good intentions but the bent plastic parts really pull this thing down. In my opinion that makes it even sadder than just a plain bad kit that gets converted to a wreck and that's it.

It happens with some kits. live an learn even the most expensive kits have their fare share of issues no model company ever gets it 100% right.

Yes, though some have 99% while some others (AMC) have only 60%

Turn it into damaged effects, whenever I screw up a model I always just put rust on the part and make it look like damage, you'd be amazed on how many of my tanks I've done that to, simply because I messed up
