Description here is Kern's 'surface world' version of my Akumu'keshi Dutan'vir. major difference: since it's above ground, she has donned a brown cloak over her armor for warmth. it's easy to forget that Drow who live underground in cities like Chel'el'Sussoloth have access to geothermal heat sources, and find the world above ground dry and cold. not only that, older Drow become dependent on other Drow to provide a pool of mana that is hard to come by in nature, and mana deprivation causes them to visibly age (wrinkles, hunched over, etc. much like aged humans). barring mana deprivation, disease, starvation, or wounds, Drow can easily live over 1,000 years, or more than 10 times the average human. just imagine that...assuming that each of your relatives had a child at age 25, that's 4 generations every 100 years. so if you could go back 40+ generations, that could constitute the lifetime of ONE Drow Elf. and Dark Elves lived even longer than that!

so, Akumu reappeared in chapter 52, with Ischa the Beld at her side (and not Durlyn her mate) who saved her life by liquefying a Hermionne weapon which otherwise would have brained Akumu and ruined her whole day. by chapter 54, she appeared on one page, when Ariel's forces stormed Snadhya's tower at Felde, and she was seen being strangled by a golem . I would have figured that was the end, but she reappeared as a Kyorl with a sealing stick in chapter 57, when Durlyn was murdered. at least his sister Bal'diira was with her, under Chirinide's command . so maybe she survived to the end of the story, to take care of their child...
