...And remembered I'd been wanting to make a pair. It was hitsuzen. =w=

I think they look a little silly actually being worn(normal), but I'll probably wear them around my neck from now on just in case I have to suddenly cut up an onion or get caught in a dust devil. It's best to be prepared for such things, really.

Jar caps and a bunch of stuff I had lying around. I did go buy those little round things though.
The fur looks a little weird, I'm not sure what it is to be honest. Someone gave me a bunch of vintage fur collars and such to cut up for crafts, and that on was the weirdest. They called it camel, but I think maybe it's sheep. Then again, I've never seen a camel up close so what do I know? =w=;;

Btw, I'll trade my sou~er, artwork, for some suede. ;___; I wanted this to be black or dark brown, but all I had was that red/orange stuff... It was only just barely enough too.

It's 12 now... I feel nonsensical...

It does look like they have lenses.

You may be blind, I can see the lenses clearly. Though they are not reflective, I can see the blur within the glass.

I think the red/orange hue makes it so much better. C:

.........I WOULD SO BUY THAT. I can't get ANYTHING around where I live. The craft store near me sells NOTHING. NOTHING AS IN CRAYOLA CRAFTS AND FAKE FLOWERS. The other craft store a town over sells only drawing, painting and drafting material. The only pow wow near me has stuff for sale around $50+ D: I got lucky and bought a small rabbit skin for less than $10 ;-; It's a nice table cover to keep glass things on .__. I should use it for something else.

I might put it on eBay, or make another pair once I get more suede later this month. I want to make a black pair with green lenses. *___*
Ouch. >.O Try thrift stores..? You might be able to find better craft stuff, or cheap jackets and such to cut up for material.

Those should only be about $6, tops. Maybe a bit more if they have printed patterns... .___.;;
It's kinda hard to cut stuff like that up at first. =w=; What would you make?

D: Darnit...I can't use EBay >> My dad banned me from EBay for trying to sell some of my old things that he said "was still useable". Those things are still sitting in my basement with tons of dust on them. I should try and make my own goggles. It would go well with my upcoming Gryphon cosplay .__.

...There's one thrift store in town, but it belongs to the private school and is open only during a certain time of the year (I don't know when). Plus, whenever my parents do buy old used stuff, they make me wear them. They are horrified at the fact that you can cut old things up to make craft stuff with. They severely limit my crafting abilities D8

New Jersey sucks. The taxes are so high that the Native Americans kinda have to adjust prices for that. NJ's not so nice to minorities or poor people...-coughCamdencough-
I don't know what I'd make out of the rabbit fur...it's too nice and soft and nice to do anything with it currently. Maybe if I get a picture of it you can give me ideas?

I saw a mason jar on my counter today and it reminded me of the tutorial. >< I need to make my own, have a ton of deer leather left, lol.

Yours look awesome though, I like the spikes.

I just stole some from the cabinet when I woke up yesterday morning... >.>
Gah, this year at Chasco Fiesta I'm just going to get a ton of buckskin. Dx I regretted not getting more all year. Where do you buy yours..?

Thanks, I wish I'd had a third pair one size larger though. |3

Got 5 skins for $80 on eBay awhile back. What's Chasco Fiesta? Never heard of it before. But now that I think about it, Micheals sells bags of hide scraps, more than enough leather for goggles. I think I may grab a bag of that.

Oh...
It's a big parade/festival/pow wow celebrating a false story of our towns' history involving a love story between a Catholic and Native American.
Or something.

I don't even think the event planners know what it's actually supposed to celebrate. |D

I know I'll be able to get a lot of scrap pieces for stuff like this for about fifty cents to a dollar each, and small craft quality hides for less than $10, so I don't really want to go spend a lot more on eBay or a craft store when I can just wait until later this month... Dx
I hate waiting though...

We don't have any festivals like that here.
Bags of scraps here aren't too bad, have some nice large pieces in it, plus I have another idea for the excess.

I only go to eBay when I need full hides.

No pow wows? O.o There are like 2-3 a year around here.(although I've only been to Chasco)

They don't have those at the stores here. :[
They did have individual squares at JoAnne's, but it was $6 for pretty much 1 square foot... (Maybe that's a good price, I don't know. )

No pow wows here. xD Red neck country only.

That's expensive! Here you get a whole bag for $6. If you want when I grab a bag I'll snap a picture for you incase you'd like one in the future. You get like a pound plus each bag. They're clear so you can make out which colours are inside.

How odd. O: The stores there sound like they have better stuff in stock all year-round though.

I think I'll be okay until the festival starts on the 19th. There aren't any projects I desperately need to start that can't wait two more weeks. (If only I had known this two months ago though. xD;; )

I just live out in the middle of no where inbetween two larger towns. Normally have to travel to a certain one cause the other doesn't have it though.

Wow that is really really cool. It makes me wanna commission you to make some goggles for myself. Like in the picture: [link] or for the spiral on his necklace. Me loves Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

I am completely and totally out of suede to make the belt and such from. I think you could make the goggles from something red and either get yellow sunglasses or use a yellow transparent CD case for the lenses maybe..?

Is it manga or anime? *has never heard of it*

KittyKatSplat In reply to BasiliskZero [2009-03-03 16:11:25 +0000 UTC]

It's anime that's a few years old. I've only recently come in contact with it. It's out on DVD if you have the moolah for it but otherwise it's a little hard to find to download and watch. If you wanna download it's easy to find on Anime Source but not anywhere else.
