....I didn't utter a word. Instead, I whipped up my cellphone.
Ignoring his stupefied look, I typed in my answer and slowly showed it to him.
Lex sat there staring at my phone with the same stupefied look for another three minutes.
Then he smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen him do. I couldn't help but smile back.
I closed my eyes, curled back on his chest and let the rhythm of his heartbeat lull me to sleep...

Just something I came up for the sketch.

I'm feeling a bit lazier than usual... it's because of this HELLISH HEAT, I'm telling ya!
I wasn't able to work on anything at all... My agent's gonna kill me!
So instead, I found this old unfinished Sam and Lex sketch. I know, this should be in the scrap section, but I thought that I'd let you guys see what my raw sketch looks like before I do tight pencils. And anyway, the subject matter is perfect, I think I need to find a quiet corner of my own, too.

I always start sketching with a dull F pencil. I don't usually draw guidelines, because I'm too lazy to erase all those extra lines. I start with the eyes, then the nose, lips and hairline, and then the rest. I just keep in mind the necessary proportions and perspective. I don't recommend you do this, though! Guidelines are necessary to give the drawing structure and form. It's just, well, since almost all of my work involves tight pencils, my lines need to be as clean as possible.
