One thing I like about Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle series is that there's no "Oh, I'm so much stronger than you, lah lah lah oh you helpless women" thing going on between the main character and her love interest. When a bunch of men try to tell Gemma that she's helpless, she turns a cathedral into a hellish incarnation of all of their fears, so, um, yeah.Also, that Fee is not me. That's Felicity, a character in the book, who happens to share my nickname, and is also queer, curvaceous, and blond, like me...
Thankfully, we differ in that I don't run naked in the woods trying to kill deer. You know. As a rule.

The funny thing is I hated Fee in the first half of the first book. By Rebel Angels she had become my very favourite character. In fact, in The Sweet Far Thing, I was so convinced she was going to die I kind of avoided reading it for a week because I didn't want to face it.
