Silvertooth

"An aggressive hunter, quick to close the distance and engage up close. Just when you think you’ve figured them out, they surprise you with something new. Do not take them lightly, or you won’t be coming back at all.”

Height: (to shoulder) 12-14 feet
Length: (nose to tail) 19-22 feet
Species: Grimm
Habitats: Remnant Wilderness, Mountain Regions, Forests, Plains
Attacks: Claws, Powerful Jaws, Massive Canines

The Silvertooth is a large predatory Grimm that is equal parts pack animal and lone wolf. Similar in appearance to the Sabertooth Tiger, Silvertooths are named after the large scimitar shaped canines that jut out of the top of their upper jaws, a bright metallic silver in color. They are highly territorial creatures and extremely aggressive to humans, animals and even grimm alike.

Appearance

The Silvertooth is built for speed, agility, and aggression. Like the saber-toothed cat, it is heavyset at the front, with a large, broad chest, neck, and shoulders, powerful legs, and small tail. Its mouth is equipped with strong jaws and a pair of curved, scimitar-like serrated canines, always a deep metallic silver in color, which earned the Grimm its name. There are four visible eyes on its face, two on each side, in a dual vertical configuration. A long crest-like bone plate runs along the forward area of its back, and an array of three long blade-like bones protrude from its back in a fan-like pattern, just behind the shoulders. Its paws are equipped with non-retractable claws. The shoulders, head, and neck are heavily armored without compromising its speed.

Abilities

Silvertooths, like most Grimm, will attack humans on sight. Unlike most Grimm however, they are also known to attack other Grimm as well, making them something of a wild card even among their own kind. They are extremely territorial creatures, and are just as likely to hunt in packs as they are to hunt on their own. Likewise, they will are just as likely to charge in roaring as they are to stealthily approach and wait to for the right time to ambush. Despite the Silvertooth's massive size, they are terrifyingly quiet when they wish to be, their prey never once hearing these beasts approaching until it is far too late.

Silvertooths are designed for rapid sprinting and pouncing, like predatory big cats. They have no ranged weapons, thus will either wait until their prey gets close or will charge in at full speed to savage them before the target has a chance to fire upon them.

Their mode of attack is an endless melee in which they charge, then spring and swipe with the claws on their front paws, or try to catch them in their jaws and deliver a bone crushing bite. The attacks with its claws will severely injure or kill a human caught by them unless they roll or dive out of the way. Getting caught in their jaws, however, is a death sentence. Even the most skilled Huntsmen recommend avoiding the jaws of a Silvertooth at all costs, as no armour exists that can withstand the crushing strength of their jaws.

Furthermore, Silvertooths will repeatedly attack in a relentless, highly aggressive manner which gives the enemy little time to retaliate. They will not stop until they have killed their prey or have been defeated themselves.

Silvertooth roars and growls are often compared to those of a Tiger or Lion, deep and powerful. With the right conditions, the Silvertooth’s roar can be heard up to 5 miles (8km) away.

Oum bless us... This thing would be frightening to fight within a dense forest.
