Yo, the name is Batty...Yeah, I bought Ferngully: the last rainforest. It was one of those under $10 animation movies that I've been collecting ever since I got here.
Ironically, I've never seen it until the first time I watched the DVD... Of course, I also bought All Dogs Go To Heaven, and I haven't seen THAT movie since I saw it in theaters.
(And on that note, I feel that they should have harped on Itchy's materialism a bit more. I mean, I loved the movie, and the animation, but the thought of Itchy worrying about his preacious drill while people around him are trying to shoot him- now THAT'S a cool personality quirk!)

This is from a good animated film. Kids shows with a good message are great. We don't have them like this anymore.

Yeah, in retrospect I didn't mind a lot of the "Lesson" cartoons of my childhood, cause they disguised the lessons in fun. Some of them spread the lesson on thick over a thin amount of fun, but yeah- a lot of them were STILL pretty good.

I liked the design on the villian myself. I always find shadowy figures scarier then monsters you can see, and I guess a giant smoke cloud counts somewhat.
Family fun version? Did they actually take a movie that was family-related and turn it more family-oriented?

Great movie, but its such a shame that the movie versions of Batty and Hexus' songs are so short. If you can find the soundtrack to Ferngully, do so. It contains great extended versions of both songs.
