And I come back to the Kurdalagonus again, this time at the request of the Museum of Earth Science. Middle miocene, Sea of Sarmat (part of the Eastern Paratethys). Foraging Kurdalagonus was surrounded by a flock of archaic delphinids Kentriodon. Like all Cetotheriids, Kurdalagonus was small by the standards of baleen whales, but looks like a giant next to miniature Kentriodons.
Remains of both cetaceans were found on Taman peninsula.
