History
Ziana's family has served the Royal Family for decades and at a very young age she began to work for them along with her mother under Azula's power. During her time as Azula's maid she studied the concepts of firebending seeing as she had no teacher and would often be used as a target during training anyway so it only made sense in her mind. After work she would often practice what she picked up from Azula in her tiny backyard behind her house. This would go on for hours till she eventually collapsed in the yard and fell asleep.
As months went by she began to speak with General Iroh more and more frequently about random nonsense (she was a child after all) until eventually the conversation of Azula was brought up. Shortly after that her work was transferred over from Azula to Iroh and Zuko when needed. This gave her more time to train and get lessons when applicable.
As she got older she became more wise to the actions of the Fire Nation and tended to distance herself from the hire ups, including Zuko and General Iroh for fear of what was to become of the Nation. These thoughts felt confirmed in her mind after the fight of Zuko's which resulted in his scar. Soon after that day, she bit adieu to her mother left the Nation without another word to anyone.
For a long time she travelled alone across the Nations as tension grew high. Many nights she stayed outside because of the fear of her being a spy from the Fire Nation. Not that it mattered to her, it just made acquiring more difficult for her. Hence the start of her thieving days till word of the Avatar's discovery. Her thoughts were to find the Avatar and hopefully help him along the journey. Perhaps at that point she could return home back to her mother, Iroh, and Zuko (not realizing the predicament of the latter two).
Well, no. That didn't exactly happen. Instead, she came across Pomodoro, a Earth Nation resident of Ba Sing Se. He had intentions of setting off to find his brother and felt that he may be in need of her assistance at the time being till she met up with the Avatar.

Yayyyyyy my Avatar: the Last Airbender character. It's been a while since I've drawn her and well, the new season of Avatar is inspiring me to draw her and some other characters.
Umm... This took me hours and hours to do. I started at 4pm and it is now 1am. Why did it take me so long? Because I couldn't figure out how to do decentish fire But I trugged on through that and made it look okayish.
You know what, I'm happy with this actually .. Except that she turned out much more than than I had anticipated. Not sure if I should fix that.
Edit I tested out some other skin tones on her and I just hate it them all... I like her super tan. She can be an odd ball of the Fire Nation.
