Oh my... I was just watched Sherlock Holmes yesterday [7/1/2010] and fall in love with these 2 characters in instant! My first movie this year and I LOVE it!! And bless my ojicon... because of that, I manage to draw 2 uncles with moustache...
At first I was wondering why Watson's cast was Jude Law? I mean he's too young, too handsome, and too tall to be Dr. Watson. But when I saw this movie, I was like, "Ok, he's a good seme for Holmes." LOL
And for Robert Downey Jr., he's a great actor for making a brand new Holmes image... in uke-ish way, I say. Hahaha!
Overall, this movie is great! I like how they create different characterization for Holmes and Watson. Bromance? Nawh, it's not brotherly romance, I think they just plain in love with each other. *got smacked with 12cm heel boots*

I thought it didn't matter that Watson was a bit younger... I thought he was only old in the TV series and older movies. But I haven't read the books, so I don't know for sure. xP I just heard that his age wasn't clear...

Lol. I just saw the movie too and I was wondering why Jude Law was cast as well. But he really brought his and Sherlock Holmes' bromance forward. I adored it. The pic is awesome. Love the linework.

Well, the main reason Jude Law was cast as Watson was because Robert Downey Jr wanted the movie to go back to the original portrayal of Dr. Watson, and not the short, chubby, inept version most have seen. Jude Law had agreed with Robert Downey Jr, since having read the original Sherlock Holmes books.

Ah yes, I agree with that. I never finish reading the book before (because I was still a kid) and got influenced with the image of Holmes and Watson from the old movie (which I vaguely remember too, lol).
After reading the book, I can see the new Holmes and Watson fits the novel image perfectly. ^^
