A sultry demoness of great power and skill, Azaerieth (or “Azi” to those she favors) has lived an untold number of centuries. (Although it cannot be factually confirmed, she has expressed recollection of events like the creation of the Earth, and of the Fall of Lucifer, suggesting an age even greater than what has been recorded.)
Throughout the history of the world, and of others, she has plied her seductive trade, taking innumerable lovers of both genders, sometimes by direct temptation and sometimes by use of magical disguise. As a shapeshifter, the forms Azaerieth uses are infinite, although her preferred form is that of a beautiful woman with violet skin, golden eyes, dark violet hair streaked with blue and green, plus the usual horns, tail and wings of a demon. Her preferred attire in this state is a short dress inspired by Ancient Greek fashion.
Personality-wise, Azaerieth is teasing and rather smug. She very much enjoys her sexuality and finds particular delight in shocking or teasing prudish individuals. At the same time, she also has a soft spot for her lovers, and loves to shower them with affection – and in return, loves being pampered by them.
Unlike most succubi, Azi does not use mind-altering magic to enslave a lover or lovers to her whim. There are various reasons for why she does this: one of which is a point of pride, as she likes the challenge of wooing a chosen person without just “zapping” them. The second point is also pragmatic; while some succubi drain their victims of life in an intense orgy of lovemaking, Azi prefers a longer relationship, taking only bits of energy at a time from her chosen lover in order to prolong the “meal” and avoid a constant search for new targets. (In addition, she also finds such “gorging” to be distasteful and gross.)
And finally… as she seeks out lovers who she wishes to romance, in addition to seduce, Azi does not care for the idea of draining them to a husk, and instead wishes to prolong her time with them. Sometimes this has led to grief on her part, as she has lost lovers to death through warfare, illness, or old age.
It is a striking paradox. Azaerieth is an unrepentant succubus, who very much enjoys her amusements and teasing; yet she also displays a softer and sweeter side in her affections as well. While determining this demoness’ ultimate allegiances may be a headache for theologians and other thinkers, perhaps the best answer is that Azi is more on her own side than that of the devil or the angels.
