You wouldn't believe how much Wally whump fanfiction there is.. *sniffle*
His dad, Rudolph, is so often portrayed as abusive, you'd think it's canon in the comics.. (it's not though
) Poor Wally... He always says he's fine when clearly that's not the case..
(too bad it's so fun to read those kind of stories
)(thought I'd practice semi-realism... I quite like how it's turned out, usually I can never transfer my favorite characters into this kind of style.. )

It's not canon in the comics, but it is said that Rudolph was very detached and emotionally unavailable towards his family, and he didn't know how to treat them properly. Anyway, great art.

If I may....The DC universe has hundreds of different Earths and dimensions. While Wally may not be abused in the dimension of Young Justice, there is actually a canon world in which he actually was abused by his father...(I can't remember correctly but it had something to deal with spilt coke and being locked in closets...) That particular canon world is why I assume there are so many "Wally Wump" Fics.Β

I think you're right about the revisiting the past thing.....But i'm not very sure, i've never been able to get my hands on any of the comics...sadly...Q^Q...but I used to read so many YJ/JL fanfictions and DC Wiki pages, that I would be filled in on everything in the DC universe. I believe what you are saying about Wally revisiting himself is true.

yeah, well, I know the revisiting is true, I was just wondering if the abuse thing might be from that universe.. but I doubt it :/ so far I've been unsuccessful in finding any examples... then again, I haven't read that much on DC Wiki still..Β

Well, if theres a universe where Roy does Heroin, then I suppose there would be one where Wally was abused....Although, a quick re-read through the wiki suggests towards emotional abuse.

He idolized the Flash and was the president and sole member of the Blue Valley Flash Fan Club. His parents thought he was setting himself up for failure and did their best to dampen what they believed to be unrealistic expectations, in rather harsh ways. His father encouraged him to work at the same plant he did, but Wally grew frustrated and hurt (and eventually apathetic) by their lack of faith in his abilities.
At a family reunion held at the Wests, Wally accidentally spilled some soda while pouring, and was yelled at by his father for keeping his head in the clouds. He went to his room crying and a familiar looking man, who he thought was maybe his uncle or something, came in and talked to him, saying he shouldn't give up on his dreams and giving him confidence that he'd reflect back on for years to come.

From what I understand, in the DC Universe 1 continuity (YJ is DC Universe 16), Wally left his parents' home because his dad was abusive.
It's not mentioned/hinted in YJ at all though, and I imagine that it's because abusive homes is too adult of a theme for a show directed at an audience as young as eight.
