Yay moar fanart! Iv been so excited recently! I was waiting every day for ages on my pokemon platinum game, waiting for the electrike's to swarm x3 FINALLY THEY DID! YES! I went catch'n'breed happy for sure.
You may or may not know but electric is my favourite 'type' in the pokemon games, alot of them are fast and pack a real sp.atk PUNCH. I just wish they had more/better moves, it seems kinda limited.
My favourite electrike pokemon (though not my fav out of them all, they are pretty high up there) Is electrike/manectric 8D I love em!
Though I have SO many pet peeves when it comes to art of manectic (more so than its predecessor).
People draw it like a wolf with seperate ears, dog noses, tails that don't point up like a lightning rod, soft FLUFFY hair all over.

I imagine them having very smooth blue fur, not nessisarily short but smooth. Also since its an electric pokemon I don't think of it as having soft fluffy fur at all but more like stiff supple almost fiber optic like follicles that would help conduct for it.
I agree with most people that the 'ear hole' thing is kinda ugly/off putting but its part of the design. What I drew above is the most 'earlike' I would draw on Manectric's head.
Either way those are just -my- preferences x3 I LOVE EM!

YEEESSS! I mean, I can understand if somebody wants to draw one in wolf-form, okay...but it's like, "Please, for the most part, draw them the way they are!"
They've been one of my favorite Pokemon since I first saw the cool little turquoise-and-yellow-green sprite, hehehe. Canine-based Pokemon comprise a lot of my favorites and it just looked so awesome. Loooove Electrike, too. c:

do you mind if i use this as drawing practise? theyre my two favorite pokemon and this is the only decent picture i can find..i wont be using it for any presentations or showing it off, just for practising tecniques and stuff for when im drawing animals...i really do love it

These two easily beat every other cantidate for my favorite electric type. Electrike's adorable and Manectric is both kickass, and a very valuable member of my current Emerald team.
Plus, he's blue; my favorite color!

I think, of the electric Pokemon, Manectric is one of the coolest. Though Jolteon and Luxray are right up there. Luxray should be Dark/Electric! Don't you think?
My favourite type is probably Fire and Ice. Then Psychic. I love Psychic/Ice hehe. Jynx ftw! XDD She packs a damn punch, esp. in Crystal (the only one I ever trained tbh. XDDD; )
This looks really good, I love how stiff Manectric looks, but he's also soft at the same time? Electrike's eye looks a bit odd, like it's bulging out.

since I dont use them often, Electric pokemons' speed is rather annoying. eg: electrode is amazingly fast for a ball... it makes no sense! Luxray is one of my faveourite electrics because he's much slower with high offensive power to compensate which is odd for an electric type, but my most favourite is Magnezone cos he's just plain weird XD
I much prefer fire pokemon anyday ;3

Personally if I were to draw these two they'd be more stylized and I'd do away with that volcano looking hair on Manectric and make it more...like a hairdo xD But YES thank you, electric types are not fluffy! Totally agree with you there my friend. I like that neither of them really have nose pads. I see many renditions where they do but I think this way is more true to them. Sooo...Well done Holl0rz!!! 8D I love seeing Pokemon artness from you. I recently beat the Four in Platinum so now I'm looking for all the side quests to do xP

I love psychics too but that really only applies to the eevees for me x3 Theres not enough psychic types that I -like- for me to be able to call it my favourite 'type' I think D: so many new FAIL poke-designs I swear.
However my favorite electric types are: electrike, manectric, jolteon, raichu, mareep, ampharos, lanturn, shinx, luxio, luxray. All of whom are VERY high up there in my fav pokemon list (I ommitted some pre-volutions because I don't think much of them, eg: pikachu, flaafy)
ALL OF WHOME ARE SMOOTH OR SPIKEY D:< NOT FLUFFY *agrees*

Ohh I see. Well yeah I guess that makes sense. I love grass types but then again the only good ones out there (in my opinion) are the starters so it's not like I adore the whole genre of grass types.
I'm ok with Pikachu except for the fact that it's the "spokes pokemon" and it's a bit too over popularized for me. But Mareep/Flaafy/Ampharos are all just so adorable, especially the first two xD I almost didn't want mine to evolve but Ampharos has wonderful stats so there ya have it.
Well Mareep and Flaafy are pretty fluffy but I don't think of cuddly when it comes to them. I'd be afraid of the static electricity their wool makes xD Like fuzzy socks on carpet.

I have been guilty of drawing Manectric with separate ears in the past, but I always saw it more like a African wild dog than a wolf XD I recently have started to picture it more like having a metal helmet on its head (sad it's not a steel type though D

But I may be mistaken (your art inspires me btw <3) Iv been on a big pokemon kick lately switching random obsessions with all my top favourites.
I kinda think of manectric's head/mane like that of a blue jay [link] but more upstanding and spikey! I just join the ear onto it and pretend that hole looks a little more like an inner ear xD

Looks awesome! I have a Manectric (no nickname, since I fail at coming up with names) on my Diamond version trained all the way up to lv 100, and I believe it's got a serious nature. Hmm... I believe the nature of Circuit is the same as my shiny Luxray in Platinum.
