Description Shy guys are one of the few enemies of the Mario series that did not originate in a Mario game. They actually made their debut in "Doki Doki Panic" which was later remade into the "American Super Mario Bros. 2;" however, unlike most of the rumors state, "Doki Doki Panic" was co-developed by Nintendo. In fact, Miyamoto spent more time devoted to it's created personally than he did to the Japanese "Super Mario Bros 2," which is know to America as "Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels." Shy Guys usually work for Bowser and the Koopa Troop, but they originally worked for the evil king Wart. Shy Guys are.... well... shy; It's in their nature as well as their name! This is why they wear a mask at all times. A Shy Guy, much like el Tauro Feurte, never removes his mask. Some even believe that it is not a mask at all, rather, their actual face. There has been.... one.. occurence though.... [link]

P.S. The Shy Guy ghosts in Luigi's Mansion were fabricated by Vincent Van Gore (the painting ghost) and thus not actual Shy Guys.

I personally loved their role in Paper Mario the most out of any of their occurrences!
