So I've been looking at a lot of James Jean lately, and man.... I think this guy will be influencing a whole new generation of artists... he is incredible. So this is my little James Jean inspired coloration... I wish I could make myself spend more time on this.. but as with most of my work, if I don't plan it out to be super time intensive, then I can end up rushing through different stages.... this is a prime example.Related content

Andrew, my son, is crawling around and about to start walking. In the mean time, I am working at fedexkinkos for some dependable money and freelancing while I should be asleep. I am going to be posting some drawings of more "known" characters in hopes of getting some more attention on the web. Shoot me your comments and please give me some good crit. it really just makes me cry on the inside... cuz I don't think I have it in me to ever be so technically sound. He's really like an art prodigy or super genius. Everything he does is brilliant to me.

how goes Melbourne? Is the summer any hotter this year? Cuz winter certainly isn't any warmer here, in fact we've been getting more snow. Craziness.

well melbourne is the place for erratic weather patterns. it sometimes seems like all the seasons arrive in one day. we've had some of our coldest summer days on record since like the 70's or sumthin. sign of times man. weird since that's actually part of the theme i'm workin on while i'm living in this gallery. been painting them on four big old wooden doors. each representing a season in transition which kinda sums up my idea of livin in melbourne as an immigrant who's been here a while. it's still weird tryin to be a fine artist. i'd much rather work on a comic but i guess it's just a different kinda storytelling. anyways, how goes it in your neck of the woods?

I know this is a late response, but it's cold here. And I'm kind of in a post college funk of transition... ie, my parent's house. Though, I'm working every day drawing GI Joe... unfortunately it doesn't pay well enough to get me outta here right away.
So you immigrated to Melbourne, as in Australia? Where are you originally from?
I can tell you I would love to be painting some big doors right now. Doing the same thing everyday is burning me out, but of course, I don't have time to do anything significant on the side. And living at home ain't too inspiring, unfortunately. Hopefully when I do finally leave I'll get excited about art again. But until then!
