Maybe but I usually like to keep my characters separate from official ones in terms of relation. 
There is one exception to this, however. My Pokemon Professor, Prof. Hazel is actually
old friends with Prof. Rowan of the Sinnoh Region. Some official characters such as Silver from Gold and Silver,
and Lenora from Black and While also appear but have no relation to any of my characters. Usually, it's my original
characters who are related to each other. Blake isn't related to anyone, as far as I know, he's just a laid-back and 
somewhat lazy old man who happens to own a hotel resort.  
I'd rather define him through his own character rather than his
relation to an official one.
