Description (This is MS Paint XP pixel art, make sure you see it as such by clicking on it. The question arises often)

Why wild? I drew domesticated ones before, so these would be the wild ones. They're much larger creatures, enouph that somebody could ride them. Wouldn't be something to do...
I've always loved the appearance reminescent to velociraptors these things were often given. Just for that, who wouldn't want to have them in their fictional ecosysteme? And so here it is! I'll probably show off the domesticated ones on its own eventually, but i have many many other things to finish first.

"You will have babies in your jugular."

I don't know, but this sounds even worst.

I really like all the details, from the scales on the feet to the texture of the skin around the eyes. The variety of poses on the chicks is nice too. You did really well with the design of the parent and the chicks!

Wow, thanks.

I noticed the chickens on your page. Do you raise some? I've been thinking of building a coop for some time now,

You're welcome!

And yep, I do have chickens! They are amazing pets, and very intelligent! Plus the eggs are a nice bonus. The only downside is probably the copious amount of poop (some breeds are worse than others in this aspect), and the egg song they sometimes sing in the wee hours. I definitely would encourage you to have your own flock though. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them!

Cool! I'll remember to.

I wanted them for being able to supply some eggs to help my brother's bakery. The nice bonus is that they are the closest thing to pet dinosaurs!

Haha those would be some really expensive eggs then! It's actually significantly cheaper (unless you have like 60+ chickens) to just buy eggs than to raise chickens for them. The coop, feed (especially if organic), medication, cleaning supplies, etc really adds up. It doesn't help that some breeds take 6+ months before they lay their first egg, and also laying is severely decreased during the winter or when they're molting. When we had 7 laying hens, that didn't supply enough eggs for two people who eat maybe three eggs a week during the winter. (Then in the summer, it was way too many eggs, though for your case with the bakery that won't be an issue!). The egg amount also declines a lot after 2 years. One of my hens actually only laid one (or less) egg a month when she was young, and she didn't start laying a little more regularly until she was 4 years old.

That said, if you want them primarily as endearing pets, and then secondarily as eggs to help out with the bakery, that's great! They are worth every penny and are a riot! And like you said, they pretty much are like little dinosaurs in the yard. But if it is mostly just for the eggs (poop covered ones at that), then they really aren't worth it. They also take a huge toll on the yard, are really loud when they sing their egg song in the wee hours (practically roosters for some of them!), and are incredibly wasteful with their food. I don't want to dissuade you from getting chickens though since they are awesome as pets, with a couple eggs as a lovely bonus. They're smart, personable, trainable, and very cuddly! There are a ton of breeds too, so you're sure to find one that will please you! I think they are one of the best pets to have.

It's true, i'm aware of the costs and the time, but it's very much about the novelty aspect of it too about the eggs. The bakery is a very small business and our community likes local products. It'll make a great marketing ploy.

But yeah, it's just an excuse to own a couple of chicken, really. ahahah. I know a guy who owns a few and could provide them for me, they are of a stricking tiger orange color with black stripes,  i could never figure out which breed they were though. Also we have a very large terrain for them to roam (but not without surveillance) and have the coop far away from the house if noise is an issue. My only concerns are the rough winters,  foxes and hawks. Those are pretty much the reasons why we can't settle with the kind of coop we'd like to build, we would need something thick like a shed just to protect them. We're thinking of building a shed too though, we might figure out a way to merge them into the same building with rooms... Don't worry though, it won't be used to store dangerous tools, just firewood, they can crap all over them if they want, I don't care! ahah.

Can't argue with that! That is an excellent marketing ploy! Everyone loves homegrown, organic local stuff! (Does it still work though if only a fraction of the eggs used are from your hens though?) There's a local ice cream place that advertises all the local farms it uses, and the lines tend to be out the door despite the high price! I think people are more aware now about how environmentally costly it is to import things, so that's definitely a good move for you!

Nice, it sounds like your chickens are going to be really happy and you've done your planning and research. For our chickens, we actually have to bring them inside the garage at night. We've had rats and squirrels somehow get into the coop (not through the wires since the holes are too small, but from squeezing in underneath the pan and biting through the wood), which is how we lost our quails. It also gets super hot here in the summer though, so we couldn't get a shed-like coop or else our chickens would roast! (We can't have them free range when we're not around, since we have a lot of hawks and many close calls. Predators are tough sometimes!). We're happy to bring them inside into the garage though, so that way their morning egg song doesn't bother our neighbors. It sounds like you won't have that problem though, with all that space. I wish you the best with your potential future chickens!

Orange with black stripes... there's a couple breeds that potentially fit that description (and it doesn't help that that there are so many amazing looking mixes too). Whatever breed you get though, I'm sure they'll make you very happy!

And so their deadly glare strikes again!! Third victim!

Now that I think about it,  i failed to see the true genius of this before! I didn't want them to kill with their stare, preferring the calcifying breath method... this goes fot the adult,  but the chicks themselves obviously has the power to here! So i can make this a thing for them. THEY LITERALLY MELT YOUR HEART OUT OF YOUR EYES... doesn't make sense, BUT IT SOUNDS COOL!

Every time I see a chicken I think about velociraptors, it is AMAZING have you've integrated the two. And all of the little scales and feathers, wow... gorgeous! Those chicks are adorable too, their tails are killin me.

Concerning what you said about the chicks; I decided against giving them the death glare for that very reason. Don't need it!
