Advanced Drawing 1. Chalk, chalk pastel, and conte. 18x24"An abstract drawing, part of a series, liked this one the best. I'm a literal drawer, so the thought process here was much different than usual. Not knowing what to do, I picked a few shapes and a colour palette and went from there.
I liked to imagine these were weeds and bubbles and rocks under water.

This is so damnedly open to interpretation, and not in that pretend sort of way more uppity art demands. This gives a solid ground of colors and forms to let the imagination launch off from. I can't decide whether I like this better as the organs and blood vessels of an ocean bottom-dwelling creature of ancientness, or simply as thick smoke wafting up around soap bubbles. I don't want to pin it down to either, really.
I am such a big fan of dirty, messy, sketchy looking work that I would theoretically buy this. I mean I would murder and whore up enough money to buy this, if life was without consequence.

Thanks so much! You aren't the first person to say they want to buy this. Which makes my little heart go flippity-dee. If I had some more of the same I would show you, unfortunately this was the best, of a few other, more mediocre odds and ends.

I've heard of him, but I never remember til someone points t out. And thanks, what a compliment! I never would have felt like his art looks like this normally, but I can kind of see how, it's kind of a sparse landscape with tall built up pillars... at least that's what I see.
