Description
~ As the cool weather began to visit Smoky Ridge more often, the horses started to become frisky and easily excitable. Jacquelyn sat on the back of Quilceda, their roan Obertaurer. The young mare's prancing steps and amazing amount of focus had made Jacquelyn want to test her out in Dressage.

She lightly nudged the mare's sides with her heels, and though it took a moment, Quilceda moved into a graceful trot and tossed her head, chomping at the bit to tell her rider that she wanted to canter. Jacquelyn only held the reins softly and massaged the reins to ask for a lower headset. Quilceda gave something like a sigh and tucked it in nicely.

After they had been trotting for a while, Jacquelyn asked for a collected canter, but Quilceda bounded into a run for a moment, snorting with excitement. Sitting deep in the saddle, Jacquelyn gently pulled back and reminded the mare to focus. A single brown ear flicked back to show Jacquelyn that she was listening. She slowed her down and patted her neck. Oh well, Jacquelyn though, no one was ever perfect without practice.

I know, I know, competition prizes are coming soon!! I have something like artist's block when it comes to them, so be patient.

I could not resist drawing Quilceda again, I love her! I feel like she's being a touch neglected, like a few others. I'll have to work on that! Sorry for the bad story, I'm feeling a bit lazy at the moment.
