So.....Advent Children Tifa. This is my sexy cousin as Tifa. I made this costume for her back in 2006 to go with my Aerith costume. This thing was a pleather NIGHTMARE!!!! I thought I was going to die before it was done. I broke 5 sewing needles on the apron/butt-flap alone and at one point I was hand sewing through 4 layers of pleather cause I was afraid my machine wouldn't be able to handle it.I'm actually not all that fond of Tifa's AC costume. It's a little too "biker-chick" and less "Tifa" for me. (I think I'm still sad about her hair getting chopped off is all that's wrong with me)
You can't see most of the costume but this picture looks nice so o well. XDD Whoot you can see her cellphone!! (LOLs at her) The location is the Anaheim Convention Center.

I'm making a costume myself and the top is already finished, but only problem is finishing the bottom of the outfit.

Well, the only real advice I can give is to tell you good luck. LOLOL I made this costume a really long time ago so I honestly couldn't tell you how to make it now. And the way I made it back then was a terrible way to make it. I guess I would suggest top stitching to help the leather lay flat. But other then that I'm not really sure how to help. Sorry.

The apron actually isn't attached to the shorts. It's attached to the back buttflap and the whole thing is held up by a belt. I'm not quite sure what you're asking in the first question but if you need help making an apron you can look at these patterns here. [link] :>

Hi, my grandma and I are sewing together a Tifa costume for me for the upcoming con (and my first one ever) and are looking for patterns. If you've any, may we PLEASE use them?

O yea! before I forget, all the patterns mentioned earlier can be found at any fabric store so you don't need to order online to get them. There are also other patterns on there that you might need as well. Any generic pants pattern will work just fine for Tifa's long shorts. Feel free to find other patterns that may suit your needs or the particular look you want better. Haha!
The way that I end up doing things may not always be the best way but if you need anymore advice or help feel free to send me a PM about your question and I'll do my best to help answer it.

I actually didn't buy any patterns when I made that Tifa costume and it's been so long since I made this that even if I did buy a pattern I'd probably have lost it by now.
However you guysh could probably alter these patterns here to make the different parts of Tifa [link]

& yes, I wanted to kill the pleather, too. It was a big pain to sew it, since it's so thick & the material just doesn't go well with a standard sewing machine. =_= I'm glad that nightmare is long over.
