Description
This is a shot of Taka, an old friend of mine. She was kind enough to model for me and even had her summer kimono called a "Yukata" sent over from Japan especially for the shoot. So domo arigatou to Taka for her contribution and for being my muse and inspiration.Make-up and wig design: Moi

NB: This make-up work was traditionally created with no airbrushing, digital manipulation or photoshop of any kind...and that's the way I usually like it!!

What an elegant piece, I've read about the Japanese culture and I've always wanted to travel there someday. I love the colors and the simple blurred background. Nice job.

hi i really love this kimono but i have i question was the pattern for the kimono painted?
i'm thinking of making a kimono not sure if i should paint it or get fabric with design on it

Hmm, I think it's done in the traditional Japanese way of handmade screenprinting! The kimono belonged to the model, which she brought with her from Japan!

Hehe...would be different for sure...I think when wearing kimono and copying the Geisha style, Westerners try to stick to the Japanese traditions as close as possible hence the use of petite models!

Actually I have dressed like a GeishaGoth a few times for goth club outings here and there, didn't make me feel any more Asian though 
As for your Kabuki fantasy...well...it's certainly not unheard of...but remember this....most female Kabuki roles are played by men, so just be aware of that before you ask them any favours...hehe
