The title is in French. How creative of me.
Y'know, in the Invader Zim fanverse, I've seen alot of love between two people. Boy and girl, boy and boy, girl and girl, boy and female irken, girl and male irken, boy and male irken, girl and female irken, boy and robot, girl and robot, male irken and robot, female irken and robot, and robot and robot love.
But the thing that surprises me is the love that is missing is the love between a father and their child. To me, when a father and a child spend time with one another, it truly melts my heart the most. Why? Well, sorry, I'm not gonna tell you.
The thing that really breaks my heart is that children don't get along with their parents. You only have one mom and dad in your life and you might as well appreciate it. You might think that your parents don't love you, maybe that's because you don't love them or you don't take the time to know them better. There are some cases when the parents are drunk and are on drugs and they really hate you and I understand that, but besides that, parents love you no matter what. Even if you're failure in your life, they still love you and they're proud of you. Even if they say that they hate you, they still love you, but it's just that they don't know how to show it or they don't want to.
Why don't you take a little bit of your time to say that you love your parents? It's simple, go up to them, give them a hug and say that you love them. And show that you love them, too. Now for some of you people out there who hate hugs, I understand, but try to get over your hate if you can.
Yes, you can say that Membrane and Dib can never be together since they never have time with one another and neither of them understand each other. This is fanart, people. I see ZADR all the time, so why does it matter?
I'm gonna love you if you read the entire description.

I see what you mean in this...sort of. To me the love and bond between a child and his/her parent(s) is one of the most sacred things that exist...and in a pretty sappy way it sort of breaks my heart how it almost doesn't exist with these two. Even if Dib and Membrane are polar opposites, don't understand each other not even a bit, or even the fact Dib was probably a clone of Membrane, there should still be some sort of that bond between them nevertheless. It's really a shame some kids don't get along with their parents...I even have rough times with my own mother, but I still try to show my love in any way I can....everyone should.
And I agree, there are to many of the repetitive "shipping" crap all over here...some of which drive me up the wall. Hell, if people can think of ideas in order to end a bitter rivalry/enemy-ship (even to the point of making it a "romance"...I'm pretty sure you know what I mean here....), than why can't they also go to the basics such as this?

I believe that other peoples parent's love... My mother told me that she wanted to abort me but because her mother-in-law wouldn't let her she drank in hopes that all the beer she consumed would kill me... Yeah I think I'm going to go get a needle and continue my knitting. (yeah I actually knit my grandmother taught me to so that I will actually have "value" to my family and to a husband which I should have had when I turned 16.)

If breaks my heart as well that children dont get along with their parents too often. I love my parents very much and I hate it when I hear those around me say horrible things behind their parents' backs.

So freaking adorable! I hardly ever see Membrane drawn in different styles. I have a soft spot for parent/child bonding too, and it's a common theme in my fanfiction. I like romantic pairings too, but the love between a parent and child is deeper in some ways.
Too bad Membrane doesn't spend more time with Dib.

Wow...the artistry is great, and the picture, of course, is very touching. I'm not sure if this could actually happen, but like you said, it's wishful thinking. (Actually, when I first saw this I thought that it was supposed to be adult!Dib with HIS son...correcting his dad's mistakes, something like that.)

Ohhh I really love this! (yes I read the entire description!) I totally agree 100%. Fanfictions are really missing the real family warm fuzzy love. Yes, some families are really sad and messed up, and I hope someday Membrane will get a clue and read to his son ^^

This might sound weird, but I'm faving this picture mainly because of the description.
For some reason, I've always been real big on parent/child relationships (not in a bad way, of course), which is why I went completely gaga over Treasure Planet. Also, I've been watching a lot of Invader Zim lately, and I think it's strange how Professor Membrane actually acts like a devoted father half the time. I mean, for the derranged show that it is, that's something completly unexpected. Maybe I'm talking too much. The point being is that I utilize my time with my parents and this description made my day

My God,I feel like Im going to cry suddenly.
All my life Ive been best freinds with my dad & had people tell me how obvious it is on how much my father adores
me.Ive been told that im his "Princess","Daddys Girl","How proud he is of his daughter"How he says he has the most beautiful girl in the world as his daughter" that "He'd die for me in an instant" my moms even said to me that he'd kill anyone who'd ever hurt me & not care if he went to jail for the rest of his life,or worse.
I could literaly go on forever with the things he says about me,but I always felt embaressed about it,especially since at school eveyone else seem to hate there dads with a passion.I would always mumble a reply & change the subject when people would mention how my dad always talks about me so highly & lovingly.
After looking at your heart-warming picture & reading your comment about parents & kids I realized something.
I may very well be the luckiest girl in the universe.
