Tried out a different paint style. I was intrigued on how most artists would start their flat coloring with a dark shade and then they would just highlight from there with a lighter color. I've tried several times in the past, but they've never quite worked and so I took a break for a long time until now. I still have a lot of practice to do, but this was decent for a first and completed try.ANYWAY! This pairing makes absolutely no sense and yet it does. Seeing as how the two are both selfish, childish, bratty, and immature villains in the games, I thought it would make a little bit of sense. A little.
In case you don't know, these are humanized versions of Mimi (from Super Paper Mario) and Fawful (from the Mario and Luigi RPG games). I tried to give Mimi a petite appearance without making her look too young. I think I failed.

Idk if you know this, but Fawful is actually supposed to be an older, middle-aged man. I think this was an aspect of trivia that didn't get well translated over into English. Childish, but all in all, just eccentric, balding, and...Fawful. His high pitched voice is probably what confused people...
Not trying to bash or anything, I mean people are always going to come up with new pairings or whatever, but for me or people who played the original games the pair is really on the disturbing side..lol(also, in the japanese version, it's imlied Mimi is in love with the Count and as well as Dimentio, Idk if that has been translated!) still nice artwork, differences aside!

Actually, this coloring style really makes everything look so full and vibrant! The way the lighting is also wonderful, showing off the sheen in both characters' hair! Plus, you're amazing with corkscrews. >w<

This is really sweet. Instant fave fave love love fave!!!! XDDD I agree to your description about the technique of art from dark to lighter shading. I truly am inspired on those techniques. Acrylics is one of them that goes by that technique. At the beginning, I used to hate it, but I soon learn to enjoy it....well...a little.
Anyways, this is an excellent portrayal of Mimi and Fawful. Their expressions are really adorable. XD I love how Fawful's expression is getting a bit ticked off of Mimi flirting over him. Also, Mimi did say she wanted a boyfriend (as in evil bf).
I'm not sure if Fawful follows down that road as Mimi would...who knows, maybe he soon grows to like Mimi by then.
