Description
A very quick drawing, done for fun, and to test a blue paper I got... two years ago? I think it is two years.
Turns out the paper is horrible. There are strange lines in it, with vertically and horizontally, and it's just incredibly thin. I'm talking thinner-that-copy-paper-thin. And it's for some reason too smooth but still too rough. It also hated my white pencil, which made it difficult to make the highlights...
It ended up far better than expected, though, but the blues on the head still merge far too much with the background.
To the type of bird... It's a superb fairy wren, and it lives in Australia. It's a cousin of the splendid fairy wren and the lovely fairy wren. I love the names of these birds! And such a lovely blue as well If I ever visit Australia, I'll make sure to look out for these birds and take thousands of photos of them

Wow.Β
This looks beautiful. Sure, the legs seem a bit off, but you seem to be working with that paper just fine.Β

I love the drawing, the blue background makes the branch a bit see through though. Good job!

What a handsome little guy!!!
Superb fairy-wrens are quite common where I live, I saw a female in the backyard yesterday so there's a good chance a blue wasn't far away I'm so lucky

Thank you!
I read they are pretty common birds in South(?) Australia. And yes, you're lucky!

Yeah they're common in Victoria too (where I'm from). One of my former uni lecturers studied their genetics quite extensively, so I got to see a few up close when they were being banded.

So cute, sweet birdie! I've only tried yellow paper. Extreamely old once white paper from my grandma's house...

Thank you!
You really should try it once... Especially black paper. Honestly, this is my first try with a real colored paper, not just grey or black.
