I like your tribal accents - wode on this character, and the bone pipe chestpiece on the bear you did for Cashew Lou.

With good reason. This piece is quite well done. Markings, mane, tail, and their blue hilites bring out the awe for this picture. And the border with the four celtic knotted corners are an excelent touch.

Thank you again! The main purpose of this piece was to do the celtic knotworking.

Job well done. I'm taking drafting to try and gain simple ways of doing so... though when it comes to tiny detail nothing beats freehand aye?

*cough* Well, I suppose it would depend on porportions. If he's really hung like a, well, horse, then it could be kind of embarrassing if he has one of *those* moments. *grin*

Thank you for the compliments! Clydesdales are my favorite too, followed very closely by Gypsy Vanner horses.

Wow, that's really beautiful! The colors are astounding. Though I think if you would've looked at ancient horses, you'd see they had toes once. You could've used that instead of human hands, because in your picture it kinda looks like he's wearing fuzzy gloves. I love the symbol on his forarm Not many try scottish stuff, let alone coldblood horses like the clydesdale! Really lovely!

Hiya, Thank you for compliments. This picture was inspired by Braveheart, which I'm sure is obvious to many folks. I love Clydesdales and enjoy developing characters in settings that represent where their species comes from.

I have looked at many pictures of horses of all kinds. Many people choose to draw their characters with only three fingers or two fingers and a thumb to represent the bone structure of actual horses. I personally like my characters to have five fingered human hands and horse hooves for feet. I think it's personal preference and there is no right or wrong, though I'm sure there are many who would argue that point. As for the fuzzy gloves comment, you're the first person to ever say that. It's an interesting perspective, thank you for sharing.

I totally love this picture. Being a big horse nut I'm getting inspired to draw more horses myself. Looking forward to seeing more of your horses.

Clydesdale! Hah.. I screamed when I saw this, holy crap it's beautiful. <.< -cough draft horse fetish cough- Just some CC, though.. I think he should be taller. He looks, somewhat out of proportion for a clydsdale. Otherwise.. Just beautiful.

Thank you! I loved this picture, and still do, when I created it, but looking back I can pick out TONS of flaws. I've picked up some men's fitness magazines and I'm attempting to teach myself male anatomy. I'll definately have to do more with this character. Thank you for the comments!

Firebringer [2004-02-17 04:19:33 +0000 UTC]

I love this one - the way his feathering is all bound in that arm-wrap is awesome, and he's got the *greatest* face! So handsome, in a bad-attitude kind of way.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Beerhorse In reply to Firebringer [2004-02-17 12:27:42 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Folks often comment that the feathering on the arms would get in the way of everything and the characters would likely shave them for convienience. However, I think they'd just find a way to wrap them up as the feathering on a Clydesdale is one of thier most beautiful asspects. I always say that Dalia wears hers pushed back with scrunchies whenever she needs to do something practicle.

Firebringer In reply to Beerhorse [2004-02-17 20:06:23 +0000 UTC]

I agree - why rid yourself of one of your more distinguishing features? Feathering is so very elegant - and can you imagine how lovely it must be while dancing or guesturing? ...Which reminds me: I AM going to draw you, soon as I produce a sketch worthy of being finished! I haven't gotten any good anthros out lately, for some reason.

Beerhorse In reply to Firebringer [2004-02-18 12:29:58 +0000 UTC]

Whee!!!! Fire art! I started a couple sketches of Fire too, but I'm having the same problem you are. None of my anthros are doing anything worth looking at these days.
