cant really disagree with you there. sticker star is a decent game on its own, its just not a good paper mario game

I'm glad to see that there're still others who acknowledge Color Splash as the piece of trash it is. I honestly don't understand why so many people, including those who despised Sticker Star, are now gushing over that game, despite containing nearly everything that people despised about the latter. I, for one, remain unfazed.

It’s because Color Splash’s writing is funny. Also because it fixed a lot of issues with Sticker Star in its battle system, but a lot of people still hate the battle system. Meaning they’re gushing over it because of the writing style of the game which isn’t self-aware of the characters being made of paper.

So am I. I don't know what the hell made Miyamoto think it was a good idea to just take almost everything that made the series what it once was, and just throw it all out the window. Although, he's not the only one to blame. The Intelligent Systems staff also seems to be content with the current direction of the series; so much, that they just completely turn a blind eye to what they know the fans want (a return to the original formula), and then arrogantly assume that we'll still buy their product, regardless. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying Sticker Star when it was new (and even then, it was only because of a limited time offer regarding Donkey Kong: Original Edition, as I didn't know the the ROM had already been dumped), but I won't be making that mistake again with Color Splash. I also consider Paper Jam to be garbage for similar reasons.

For the most part, I thought Dream Team was a pretty solid game. It was definitely a breath of fresh air, especially in the face of the Sticker Star. There were, however, some gripes that I had with it, such as the mandatory motion controls and tutorials, and the way they introduced an interesting new villain, only to have him drowned out throughout most of the game, and ultimately shafted in favor of another character who's not only extremely overrated, but has already been the final boss throughout the Mario series a million times already. God, what a blatant copout that was.

Yeah. The one thing I'll give Paper Jam credit for is providing an option to skip them. Otherwise, that game is yet another middle finger to anybody who enjoyed the first three Paper Mario games.

Oh, I love it. Not only do you strawman me with that same garbage talking point used by nearly every other Sticker Star or Color Splash apologist out there to deflect from the criticism, but then you preemptively block me on top of the fact. I love it. What a true man of courage you are. Just for the record, I didn't actually get into any of the Mario RPGs until adulthood, so you might want to keep that in mind, next time you try accusing someone of being blinded by nostalgia.
