Description I had a really random whim to make a caramel apple dragon. So I did. I've been pondering Halloween related things lately and I really do love caramel apples.

I also have plans to attempt a cute little skeleton and candy corn dragon. And maybe a bat/crow gryphon. Who knows.

I am really pleased with how this turned out, my mom freaked out at how cute it was. It was kind of a disaster at first, nothing was working right, and I dropped him and broke off a wing almost immediately after I pulled him out of the oven. But after I removed it and built him a new one, I was pretty happy because I like it much better than the old one.

I also thought the nuts would be tricky, but they were super easy, I just chopped some sculpey just like I was chopping actual nuts, then rolled them in a couple different splatters of brown paint and it just worked!

This little dragon is for sale on Etsy: [link]

If he doesn't sell before Halloween, I'm totally putting him out as a decoration right next to my skeleton lawn flamingos.

What a clever idea! I've never seen something like that before. Good job sculpting and painting him, the impression of the dripping chocolate is really nicely done.

This is the cutest thing I've seen in a very long time, I literally went "squee!" when I saw it.

Wow thats adorable XD The nuts and caramel look really realistic! It could also work well if you had the stick coming out below the dragon, then he could be put in plant pots or something :3

SO CUTE!

How did you get the "caramel" to stick out like that???

The caramel is just acrylic paint. I mixed up a bunch of it then dribbled it on top and let it kind of drip on all its own. It ended up working out a lot better than I planned since I worried it was going to be too runny. I just had to make sure I let it dry for a good long time so it would dry all the way through.

And the nuts were sprinkled onto it and it worked just like glue. Which is also good since I was worried about having to glue them on individually.
