The joker figure or 'chaos' persona often has the power to chill. That fate or chance take over and deal you bad/good hands leaves us feeling at times that we are not in charge of our own lives.
The way he controls the king on the board, we are each 'kings' we feel of our own destiny, this picture shows how untrue that really is.
A very good piece.
