Anya's feet were rough and calloused. Due to constantly being forced to walk barefoot without protection or proper shoes, they had developed a thick layer of hardened skin which made them rough and tough to the touch. They had been through so much, and they showed signs of the neglect and abuse she had received. They were definitely not the soft feet of a well-cared for or loved person, but instead they were the feet of someone who was left to endure harsh and unpleasant conditions with little to no support. They were the feet of somebody who had to learn to be tough and resilient just to survive.
