Nick Spencer's run on the Amazing Spider Man was kind of hit or miss for me personally. on the one hand it brought the character back to his former glory and retconned one of the most infamous spiderman stories of all time in the form of sins past. But on the other hand I'm very disappointed because I feel like Spencer was trying to retcon another story in the form of OMD but the marvel executives just couldn't except it. Regardless I'm not gonna lie there were some very fun stories involved. The highest points for me were definitely Last Remains and Sinister War the latter story is where they retconned Sins Past. n 2004’s Sins Past storyline, it is revealed that Gwen Stacy and Norman Osborn had an affair that resulted in the birth of twins. When Gwen wouldn’t allow Norman to raise the children, he retaliated, resulting in her tragic death - more on that later. Norman raised the twins, who carried blood enhanced with Norman’s Goblin serum and aged rapidly because of it. The two were raised to believe Peter was their father, and that he was the one who killed Gwen, and sought revenge on him because of it. Perhaps the worst part is that Mary Jane knew of the affair and twins, but kept it hidden from Peter all along as part of a promise to Gwen. Yikes. Fortunately, Years after the twins arrive, it’s revealed that Harry Osborn used clones and a few evil allies in the form of Mysterio and Cameleon to set this all up. Regardless, The amount of pain and strife this deception caused Peter and numerous grossed out fans is immeasurable. But hey at least it's retconned so all is good
