I've met someone who is starting an Imperial Fists so he and I have the two most hated enemies in the 41st millenium.

What a stressfull week. Finally, I found the time to write something about this one.
What I like most on this one are the legs. they seem like something a human yould wear (and get on and off) - more than those on GWs paintings. Also I like the detail on the belt-stuff and powerfist. The proportions all fit well together.
Anyway I have to ask what he is looking at. Is it his Boltpistol? Or something out of the viewers FOV? And while the left shoulder is a bit to small, the right one looks to big. Also that black thingy on the stabilising jets look a bit odd. And why are there folds on his lower chestplate? Is that meant to be some sort of shirt? The Boltpistol looks a bit off-perspective.
Anyway, a very nice piece. Especially the detail as e.g. on the left knee plate.

Will answer your questions as well I can
He's looking over his left shoulder, but where his eyes are looking is hard to show through lenses, for obvious reasons. The original pose was more distinct in this regard and I spank myself for not going with it.
The shoulder pads where flubbed, and it being done in pen, incorrigible. My mistake entirely.
The black thing on the stabilising jets/vents is something I picked up from an old picture of an Imperial Fist in modified Mark 3 plate, I think it was, from an old Index Astartes. It seemed logical that the siege specialists would reinforce their backpack reactors and especially the delicate vents/stabiliser jets.
Fold on the lower chest armour is mostly a thing I picked up from the cover of the old Codex Blood Angels, drawn by Karl Kopinski, where he (and later Dave Gallagher I think) drew the mid-section armour as mail/kevlar, rather than solid armour, giving the Astartes some better movement to their chest sections. The Astartes cuirass is configured so strangely, it leaves me puzzled whether it is armour or the aforementioned mail/kevlar.
Bolt pistol is off-perspective, this I agree with.
I hope that was answer to all of them.
As always, thank you for taking time with these!

not bad, i agree about yellow i'm a bad moons player so i know all about yellow fortunately orks can get away with a nonuniform paint job also i don't believe power fists existed at the time of the first founding, but hey artisitic liscence

I sort of draw these First Founding pictures not from the perspective of 30k/Horus Heresy times, but what the original 18 legions look like in the 41st millennium. Even if 9 of them aren't legions, but chapters "nowadays".

That's sort of the point, innit? I mean, power fists being huge. The ordinary arm of the Marine has to fit into it, and then all the other circuitry and shit for the glove itself.

Double strength, no armour save in the main game. Can't recall what one does in Deathwatch but it's a pile of pain there too.

Derp!
And I have to respect anyone who paints Imperial Fists since yellow really is a bitch to paint. But from what I've seen of the new paint range, it might have gotten easier.

Might've. Iyanden Darksun of the old Foundations Range wasn't as spectacular in coverage as I'd been hoping. It's what I used as base for my Imperial Fist terminator, though. That and Gryphonne Sephia wash took away the "banana" feel of the yellow and made it richer.
