I really like the intensity of his eyes. And done in Traditional media? That's exceptionally well then, the skin tone is lovely!

I note that one commenter referred to the style here as being like the Renaissance masters -- actually it's more Rococco, per Carrara and Liotard. (But I nitpick!) Regardless you have an excellent portrait technique in terms of form and colour use.
I'm curious though -- which brand of soft pastel did you use?

derwents are so good they mix well together and they're to soft they get blended easily but they break when you sharpen em faber castle are good try em

I still haven't figured out how to use the soft pastels to have works looking hopefully one day as wonderful and very nicely detailed as this, the only times I've used them they resemble a toddler's doodle ha!

lol thank you, you should try the pastel pencils, i use the soft pastel sticks for larger areas like clothes and backgrounds cause you cant make fine details with em.

o.o;;?! ...my professor in school would bug us about how we should appreciate and learn from the masters. I'm always like (-_-; zzz) But ye, you're like one of the masters now, because this is amazingly jaw-dropping awesome. You should have a print blown up really big and set it above a fireplace in some haunted house. Excellent work, I'm impressed.
