What is the height of the plush outcome for this pattern? Height, Length, and Width? I'm looking for a certain size. Nothing too small.

I cant remember the exact measurements but if I were to guess it's about 12" tall, 20" long and 7" wide?

I'm tied between choosingΒ your patternΒ orΒ this one->Β  inept77.deviantart.com/art/Fre…

I think it'll just come down to who's is easier to print off, but if I use your design in the end I'll link you a picture of the end result.

Question, how many yards of minky fabric will you need to do JUST the body for this pattern?Β  Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to trumpetpanderson [2014-05-29 03:53:28 +0000 UTC]

I'm unsure how much minky as I've never sewn with it but I'd say 1/2 a yard of fleece is plenty so I'd say around that much would be good for the minky.

I have a little question... When sewing the chin piece to the head, do you sew it to the dart?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to Grace-Likes-Cake [2014-03-09 20:26:47 +0000 UTC]

Do you mean the dart underneath the head/beginning of the neck??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Grace-Likes-Cake In reply to Belle43 [2014-03-09 20:31:09 +0000 UTC]

Yes. I wasn't sure if you sew the chin piece all the way to the corner of the dart, or if the dart was sewn seperatly.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to Grace-Likes-Cake [2014-03-10 00:00:01 +0000 UTC]

You sew it all the way to the corner.

Belle43 In reply to Grace-Likes-Cake [2014-03-10 14:39:34 +0000 UTC]

Its sewn into it. I also have a few drawings above in the tutorial that should help.

I used it to make my own Fluttershy, and it turned out not so bad, I think. Thanks again, it was priceless!

hi, i have 2 questions about the making of it, does the patterns have the seam allowance added on and do you sew the mane on after everything is sew up? im trying to make a rainbow dash plush you see...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to Aithusa308 [2013-05-25 00:30:07 +0000 UTC]

It has a small amount of seam allowance, I usually add more though. And yes you sew one the mane and tail after

MuffinPlantation [2013-05-21 20:47:21 +0000 UTC]

Question about the pattern: I've already made up a mock up, and making the open end for the stuffing on the back and neck seems a bit odd, because it'd be out in the open and whatnot. Would stuffing it from the belly work? It would be better hidden, since it would be laying down after all, its just a question as to whether or not this method would work, since I am going to be making a bunch of pony plushies once my fabric arrives (9 in total) and with this pattern being one of the possible ones I'd be using I want to find out what might work and what won't.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to MuffinPlantation [2013-05-21 21:14:11 +0000 UTC]

Ah, Yes you could easily make a hole for the stuffing on the stomach, what I would do is mostly sew everything up until you get to the back part, the cut a slit length-wise large enough for you to stuff and turn the pony right side round, then sew up the back/neck and then turn it right side round through the stomach and stuff then sew it closed Hope that answered your question!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MuffinPlantation In reply to Belle43 [2013-05-21 22:33:59 +0000 UTC]

Alrighty, thank you for answering my question and for the help c: I am, in fact, working on a rather large mock up right now, partially sewn. A question about the back legs though; even though I'm not using fleece (using crappy walmart fabric atm for mock ups) the inner back leg bit is being a bit awkward with sewing it onto the belly. I'm probably not going to explain this properly, but the fabric isn't flat, but its lifted up near the seams making an angle in the fabric. Is this normal?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to MuffinPlantation [2013-05-22 00:54:10 +0000 UTC]

It could definitely be the fabric, if its a non stretch fabric most likely that will be why. When you do it out of fleece it'll sit much nicer. Good luck with your sewing!

zeng20 [2013-05-02 16:26:38 +0000 UTC]

what fabric do you recommend?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to zeng20 [2013-05-02 16:45:37 +0000 UTC]

I used fleece, but you can use anything like, fleece, minky or some cuddle fabrics. Just as long as it has some stretch to it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zeng20 In reply to Belle43 [2013-05-02 17:07:23 +0000 UTC]

are they expensive?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to zeng20 [2013-05-02 17:33:49 +0000 UTC]

Out of all the fabrics, I'd say fleece is the least expensive, especially if you can get it on sale! It usually is for me at my fabric stores, it goes for like, $3.99-$4.99 a yard on sale. But really most of the fabric is pretty inexpensive.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to chaoticpeace1 [2013-04-06 00:21:11 +0000 UTC]

I can't remember exactly but I'd say half to 3/4 of a yard, should be plenty You'll probably have some leftover. Always a good idea to have extra!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chaoticpeace1 In reply to Belle43 [2013-04-06 04:09:31 +0000 UTC]

thank you~ also, go you have any suggestions for wings or mane/tail? i was asked to help a friend with a birthday present and they wanted fluttershy...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle43 In reply to chaoticpeace1 [2013-04-06 16:32:45 +0000 UTC]

Depends on the kind of wings you want to make, for example making closed wings would be easier because all you'd have to do is cut x4 pieces of the closed wing shape sew 2 pieces together, maybe stuff thm a bit, repeat, and you'd get 2 wings. For the mane/tail should be pretty simple since fluttershy only has a single color mane/tail, you'll just have to draw up a pattern for them or check to see if there are any around, I'd also stuff the tail too. Hope that helps!
