Description Yet another bellydancer. This one is doing an Egyptian (what my teacher calls it) which is a "basic up" hip movement. The other dancer I uploaded is doing a type of wide hip circle, at least that's how I imagined it.

I guess it's sometimes hard to say what they'er doing because there isn't any standardized set of moves for bellydancing. Everyone has different names for everything. :-/

But anyway, here's one in red, with more a middle eastern feel.

EDIT:: Changed the background color to green to contrast the colors a bit.

Very beautiful!
(I want to see the links once I get home.)
I started belly dance a while ago, too.
What amazes me the most is the separate movement of different body parts.
Quite the challenge when you start late ..

It looks like her legs are doing "egyptian" to me! In ATS the torso is flat to the front and the arms are held tall but slightly bent at the elbow. When the right leg does the movement, that you illustrated quite well , the same arm is pulled slightly down by the muscles at the shoulder blade. < That version is called the "basic egytpian". Good job, chica! Keep up the good work!

Yup! I really wish I could take some ATS classes. Where I am at the teacher pretty much sucks compared to my last one.

Thanks for the compliments! Maybe I will do some more in the bellydancing series.

I'm in the first group on the left hand side. And I'm skinny. You can guess which one I am from there.

Hope you find some time. Classes aren't cheap either lol.

Nice side view. Indeed, the red-green contrast certainly works.

Once again, very nice. I really do like her hair. The lighting on her skin and lips are very cool too. And the sparkles! The sparkles are VERY niiiice.

I maintain that I liked the green. I think the red here blends a bit too much into the background, esp. considering all of the scarves and stuff that are different shades.

That said, I think the hair is muchly awesome.

What are the white splotches on her hand?

Supposedly they're knuckle highlights X-D Seeing as it's a sketch though their placement wasn't high on my priority list X-)

ladyofx In reply to bellsandy [2006-11-16 16:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, I think I figured it out. It's not so much the placement that threw me off as how bright they are.

But as you say, its a sketch.
