Haha, she's one of my favorites too.
I really do need to read the manga. I last read it right when Lili first got introduced to the manga, so I never got to see much of her manga personality.

She's more "cute" in the anime, but has kind of a "raw, feral sexiness" to her in the manga. Also her hair's much longer. If I were to edit this, I would totally go with the manga version of her XD


There was a picture of a "Bad End" Lili someone made of her involving the ants using her for breeding as a living incubator if Bell hadn't saved her from them. It was probably the first pregnancy picture made of Lili.

A friend of mine and I thought it'd be nicer to see her having a happy moment for once

I prefer the nicer moment. I'm not really fond of the "Bad End" type stuff. I kind of feel that's just abusive and mean, rather than attractive.

I haven't read the manga, but I am working on the novels.

I got mine at Barnes & Noble, or maybe Amazon. Pretty much any book seller has them. Just be careful if you buy online. Sometimes they don't label the novels and the manga very well.

Funny thing, I haven't read the manga. The novels are set in first person from Bell's point of view. Only in special circumstances will the view shift to another character. The first book ends with him getting the Hestia Knife. I'm a little ways through book 2. He has just met up with Lili.

It's interesting, because we get to see Bell's thought process. He is very, very concerned with his weak power. Then, when he has to face the white ape, we do not know about where Hestia is or the ape, or for that matter that Freya is watching. We only get a glimpse of Freya setting the ape loose and that's it.

From what I hear, the anime pretty much ends with the second book.

Interesting, that. I didn't know they published the novels in English.
Most people I've known to read the light novels for a series have it posted on some sort of wiki somewhere, with a central index for chapters as well as maybe a status message for where the raws are and when they were last updated, and where the translated chapters are and when last updated.

Bell always did seem a bit... I'm not sure if "neurotic" is the right word, but a bit skittish with his lack of confidence. That's interesting to see a bit more of how his head works.

I completely forgot to finish the anime I've got maybe 3 episodes left.
That said.
Overlord started this season. It could be one of the greatest shows I've seen in a long time. XD
sta.sh/018qc21dwvwn is more than a bit "inside", but once you get the inside joke of it from watching the series, (maybe ep3? Maybe 4) it could be one of the funniest things I've seen in a looong, loooong time XD
sta.sh/01rq54avki7c is a silly reference, but pretty much sums it well XD; (And no, he's not Skeletor. that's part of the joke)

Overlord basically follows the tale of a guy who previously played a max level undead wizard in a MMO, and was guildmaster of a guild who built the Great Tomb of Nazarick in a swamp to be their guild's home, perhaps similar to the lair of a massively powerful lich. (That being his character XD. The Overlord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick)

He takes ALLL of his experience with him and applies it to the situation that the plot of the story puts him in. It's refreshing. And also beyond awesome, in my humble opinion. Why watching someone being that much of a glorious bastard is so fun to watch, I'm not sure, but it's amazing to me XD; The story of an Overlord's quest for WORLD DOMINATION >: 3

Just type "Overlord anime" (no quotes) in Google Images and that's as good as any example of the series' art style that I could dig up for you XD;
If you even remotely enjoy a guy playing "evil"(though that isn't QUITE how I see his behavior -- just "dark"), Overlord is FUUUUUUUUUUUUN.

I'll have to take a look. I never really got into the MMO in real life type shows. I tried to get into SAO, but kinda lost interest. Although I am working on No Game, No Life. Mainly because the art style is so cool. I also really like Rokka-Braves of the Six Flowers. It's neat fantasy adventure, but features an Aztec look to it, which is pretty unique.

Shimoneta (I think that's how it's spelled) is also pretty good. It's a time in the future when all sexual related material is outlawed and everyone has these collars that monitor their speech and activities. It's bizarre, but fun just to see how outrageous they get.

I forgot to mention, the third Danmachi novel will be coming out in another week or two.

The little I watched of No Game No Life was WONDERFUL. I only got as far as the chess match though (should be obvious where that is if you're watching the anime XD; )
"Honest Trailers" (or whatever) did a review of SAO and they pretty much summed it up as "The Piece of Shit That You Somehow Can't Stop Watching." So don't worry -- you're not alone, it's not you not understanding the genre, it's just that SAO might not be the most compelling series XD;

I did wonder if I should give Rokka no Yuusha a watch. A friend of mine linked a website that lists all current anime airing this season, and when their next episodes come out.
And yeah... Shimoneta (like Danmachi, which also had a long-ass name) IS a pretty interesting series.
A) Anna's hardcore.
B) Ayame(?) surprisingly isn't. At least last I've watched. I haven't watched today's episode yet XD;

I can't remember if I said earlier, but this season so far I'm watching Monster Musume, Overlord and Shimoneta.

And that sounds nice, the next novel ^^

I think it depends on how "gamey" the show is. I don't want to watch a person playing a game, if know what mean.

Yeah, that last episode of Shimoneta, was intense. I kept thinking, "This is on TV?"

I love Monster Musume. I've been reading the manga since before the show came out. I can't wait for MON to be introduced. Tio the ogre was my favorite character.

If you are into the light novels, the stuff released in the U.S. are: Spice & Wolf, No Game, No Life, Danmachi, Log Horizon and A Certain Magical Index. THer may be a few others, but I can't think of them right now.

It's not gamey at all to me. The world was realistic to begin with (a VR MMO), but having merged in with it, it's just that his knowledge carried over from the old world, as well as his damage immunity skills.
He had to test things at first, but then he got back into character doing what he knew best >: 3

From a game design perspective, the game did a good job of simulating cool abilities, and now they are now longer being simulated is all ^_^

I still need to watch that episode of Shimoneta, haha.

And yeah, likewise. I've been following Monster Musume since the manga's first chapter came out in English translations. I was also fan of the ero shorts he did of the "Living With Monstergirl" series before MonMusu came out, so it was pretty cool that it got a manga series ^_^
The artist's other series, 12 Beast is also quite lovely, but I do wish translators would pick it up again, or else I just have to wait for the English release

That sounds pretty cool. I think that was my hang up with SAO. It was neat that they used the menu interface to access their inventory and skills, but then I realized that the epic battles were just them picking stuff out of a menu. No one was really "skilled" per se.

Oh, and I guess I'll blow your little mind. 12 Beast got an American release. They are about to come out with vol. 3 in a month.

And yeah, I know with 12 Beast XD;
Both it and Monster Musume have English releases now, but that's why the translators stopped giving us the most recent chapters, while the MonMusu team continues on at their own sporadic pace.

Honestly... If it's a good series, we'll buy it regardless. It's the fact that we have to wait for the official releases now (which are always WAAAY behind the raws) that is a pain.

I'm surprised the manga publishers haven't caught on to what the anime companies are doing. They should try a simelcast type format. It might be a little difficult, but with e-books now, I think it could be done.

In fairness, the gag story here was that Lili had only gotten pregnant a week ago, and binge ate so much that she looked heavily pregnant already because maybe her race "grows early" because they develop nutrient pockets in the womb, similar to yolks in eggs. (so little babies with huge food pockets become big babies with no food pockets XD; )
As this idea was come up with as a product of talking with nitemare99 , it's no surprise to mention that she might get as much as 3x this big at full term XD

So.... Yeah. With that gag, she appears in front of bell like "Um... SURPRISE! 8D"

I wonder how Lili would fill out figure-wise over the course of such a pregnancy owo  *wonders about "MILF Lili" XD;*

And no, she's the same height she's always been ^^ That belly obstructs  most of her body xD; her knees are like just below her belly xD;
I may have upped the size of her head a little bit though, because one piece of fanart (and I pretty much was basing mostly on fanart pics, but also some scenes from pausing the anime ) had a possibly somewhat bigger than normal head for her, but I didn't want her to seem too "tall" y'know?
