The veteran gladiators take a break as the rest of the gladiatorsΒ are lined up to be possibly sold to a young noble lady. Gero points and explains to Floraidh whats going on, which is translated by lorcan a fellow celt from the same tribe.
Floraidh can not be a true gladiator but is being trained for a novelty match. She was to be sold as a sex slave when she saw Lorcan in the market with his lanista.He recognized the little girl now grown up and he persuaded his lanista to buy her after she boasted to him of her ability to kill roman's.

i would prefer this (and many other) scenes as slave market where women purchase strong nice or old men to have their little games with them...

An unwise boast - she'll soon learn a 'novelty match' is one where she's pitched nearly naked in the arena against some heavily armed and armoured brute, dependent on her nimble legs and supple acrobatics to save her skin!Β
The youngster's a nice touch, she looks alert, anxious, trying to learn what's demanded of a good slavegirl. Her attire is surely a Gorean kamisk, and a very lovely one.Β
