The best detective ever known...Sherlock holmes could draw the largest conclusions from the smallest of clues.
After many questions about my process in creating art, I thought some may find it interesting to see a stage that all of my art goes through before the addition of color. It was necessary for this piece to not go past sepia tones as I intended for the mood to remain a baroque/early 19th century style. However, all of my art reaches this sepia stage before I add additional colors, the colors here include...
Venetian red
Chocolate
terra cotta
Ivory Black
Chinese White

i especially LOVE how you use a tinted ground and work from there with that as one of your midtones. i always think drawings on tinted paper turn out with a really cool effect, and this is no exception!
