just cuz you get to do the epcon chick comic you think ur number 1? lol. i don't even know where ill be. I'm hoping to get atleast one issue of my comic done by then so i can display and sell it at the con. or atleast make a preview book or something. and hopefully i make enough off of sketches and prints to go around and buy sketches and prints. lol

yeah im hoping the same here starts adding up getting books and prints made. I didn't make much at free comic book day since the store I went to was really slow. Oh well Hopefully ill have a pin up in Avenglyn #3 in september by the time the con opens and maybe ill sell a few of those.

me and you should start a bigger thing here for next year. we could do it at Hastings and collab on a flier since were both decent and maybe it'll get more people to wanna come knowing some comic artists will be there.

I thought about it but the comic community is pretty small here even with the colleges. I would rather use el paso as a home base of operations so to speak more possible buyers in the area. But you are right that publicity is key for that type of thing. If you advertise it they will come lol. I talked with the owner for rebel comics and he seems really into helping indy comics especially local ones and most of the "other" comic guys use Asylum comics so we could really promote rebel comics to get it off the ground.

I'd consider Rebel Comics too, but I doubt the Urban Myth guys would want me drawing with them for events. So if not there I'll find somewhere. Cuz it definitely sucks in Cruces. Most of the fans are for Anime here as far as comics go.

yeah seems anime is really big here. Don't get me wrong, I would love to get the comic community going here because its nice to have an in-town place for comics, but would hate to waste time and money with little to no return. Maybe barnes and noble would allow something since they are the biggest comic seller in town. Sad sad. But at least the mall traffic would be better than hastings I would imagine.

well you know where decent money is made is the Farmers Market. There's a book store down there and they told me they'd arrange a signing and even put an ad in the paper for me. i really don't know how much that will help at all, but im gonna try to arrange a signing there eventually. and maybe do caricatures at the farmers market for money. but i dunno how well comic stuff will do there. maybe we can talk to the movie theaters. and do special events when comic movies come out. like on midnight premieres and stuff. that'd be kinda cool.

yeah I wanted to do the movie theater thing but the manager for the mall theater never got back in touch with me about it. I was gonna do a set of prints to sell directly to them for them to resale. Think it depends on their license agreement with marvel for it but not sure. Never thought about the farmers market area might have to think about that but just seems very low key for a comic area.

ya im gonna use the farmers market for regular art haha. i might get a job at the theater so maybe i can ask about that. like maybe they could auction an original piece related to whatever movie thats out or something
