very funny. Warhol was into ironic humor. He might have really liked this!

Well- it looks like your art work ( lovely concept- deeper I think than someone might think) will get its "15 minutes of fame", anyway- before it "deteriorates". Surelu some tecnical know-it-all can make a way to permanentize such a thing, pour plastic onto it or something. As far as Warhol goes, his 15 minutes ARE UP!

Nice work Benny! I like the sort of "dislocated/lost in space" look that he has about him. Oh, and yes, some of us do still paint!

you should maybe invest in getting this to someone who can restore artwork if your worried about deterioration. Maybe get some kinda varnish spray

This is excellent. I was just having a conversation about Andy Warhol and the Campbells soup can with my bf about about an hour ago. What a coincidence. ^_^

I think Warhol would love it,
why?
he did after all coin the phrase about, '15 minutes of fame.'
great painting!

What a witty idea!
Your painting will last if you keep it between
acid-free paper and out of direct light (or saved
in an archival portfolio).

What's priming? I'm curious because I've always wanted to try watercolors and will have to later on this year for AP Studio Art. xD But wow. I'm totally in love with this.

Priming is a term that generally refers to how you prepare your painting surface for whatever medium you will use on it. This is a different process depending on what your painting surface is and what medium you will use. For instance, you would prime a canvas with gesso (a white pasty liquid with a chalk or glue base) before you paint it with oils or acrylics. Many painting surfaces are available in stores already primed and ready to work on.
Now my personal speculation: please note, this deviant used oils on paper made for watercolors. I'm not sure of the priming process for a painting surface to accept watercolors (I don't think there is one for watercolors and watercolor paper) but in the case of oils on watercolor paper, I imagine a thin layer of gesso before hand would have sufficed. And the surface may not be sturdy enough for the oxidization process of oils but this I'm totally unsure of.
Anyway, hope that wasn't TMI.

I'm thinking that the shades could have been done a little better, but I'm guessing the painting wasn't large enough for very fine detail. The proportions are a little skewed, and the background leave a LOT to be desired.
But, it's a nice thought. I like the irony.
