Description Just something quick.

You see, I bought a book - human anatomy for artists. And it's awesome. I've been going through it now and it's terribly helpful, and inspiring. I can't say I've improved with it yet, but I've gotten some good tips from it and I really love the detail it goes into. And the best way to improve is to try, of course, so there you go. Β

Nice atmosphere! Makes me feel the chill...and miss snow

Good for you to be able to use these books. I've bought a few, but they didn't actually help me...maybe we've got bad ones here.

ooooh, its a nice one. I can almost feel the chill of that morning mist XD
it sounds like a helpful book. I usually look for tutorials and such online but havinga book is better. they are hard to get here though.

Thank you

I agree. The problem with tutorials is that you need to know what you want to search for... there are hand tutorials, foot tutorials, and so on, but not many "everything" tutorials. xD It takes effort to search for everything you need to learn when it's all scattered around. It's lovely to just browse a book and know it's all in there.

I've no idea how hard or easy it is to find these kinds of books here, I just happened to be at the book store and saw it. xD I was looking for something completely different. I thought it would cost a billion, because anatomy books tend to be expensive, but it was surprisingly affordable. This is the one I got, in case you want to look into it:Β www.ullmann-publishing.com/en/… I love how it starts from bone structure and shows you all the muscles and what they do, from head to toe (literally ). Beautifully illustrated as well.

omg! I think I actually have this book! once upon a time (like 2 years ago? XD ) I talked with the talentedΒ  and shared my problems wth foreshortening and anatomy and she shared a book she found online which was really helpful and I"m quite sure it was that one. I wonder where I stored it. I KNOW it was on my computer at some point..... hmm.

yeah, art books cost a LOT here. they have to be imported and in some cases translated. and NS is a little less than a third of the value of $. so the price gets tripled.

Oh, you should definitely try to find it, then. Β

I really don't know about art book prices here... I don't generally buy any. xD So I checked an online store for art books, and most are around €20-35, with the odd few at €50 or more. I paid €20 for mine, which I thought was very decent for something like that. What kind of prices do you have over there? (Currency conversion, here I come )

well, this kind of books probably cost more than 200NS. I bet 200-300 is an average price. so I bet its about the same price range. the Euro is supposed to be about.... 5xNS I think.

One NS (or ILS it's also called?) is about €4 at the moment, and 200-300NS is €46-69, so it's actually a bit more expensive over there. :/ €20 is about 86NS.Β

XD full name is Israeli New Shekel. but all combinations of one or more of these 3 words apply. and yup, it goes up and down, sometimes wildly. it's been almost 6 to 1 when Euro started. yeah, I often buy books online because normal english reeding books cost about half price if I buy them in $ online than if I buy them in a store around here. importing adds to thier price and all the middle men take their cut as well.
