Well, there's no such thing as a cat in Pokemon, is there? The only mention of that I know of is the pokedex entry. Wouldn't that be confusing?And yes, the Gallade is supposed to be looking at an old school pokedex.

To be fair we don't really just have "cat" in real life either. It has to a "housecat" or "bobcat". There is no just "cat"

I remember in a Pokemon episode "So near, yet so Farfetch'd", Meowth says "letting Team Rocket guard your Pokemon is like having your cat guard your canary".... does that mean cats and canaries exist in the pokemon world?

maybe its classified as a species or sum-think, like how a mantis is considered an insect, but there's no such 'insect' itself. say, like:
Bob: 'draw an insect'
Bobby: 'k' (draws a butterfly)
in pok'emon world-
Barry: 'draw a cat pok'emon'
Dawn: 'k' (draws a glameow)
