That is -very- nice! And i don't think it is overboard at all, it is what i was expecting from you as soon you get used to that stuff. Really nice values and great details through the use of textures/brushes. The only thing i would do differently next time (just my personal taste!): maybe do a fade to dark at the bottom of the statue and maybe some water reflection (white) around the person in the lake, that way you could increase the focus there, for now the statue is pulling the focus nearly totally (or just leave out the figure, the statue alone would already be a great view). Keep going, that is a fantastic progress!
