This is a pretty useful exercise!

Drawing the head angled up or down is still the hardest for me to do (which means I still need to practice more). :/

I stii wonder how somebody manage to draw interesting and 3d faces fron front view, where hint of depness are almost impossible. When i draw front views, i alsays draw the head sligtly rotate (about 5 or 10 degree)

Haha, it's like you read my mind! This is just the resource I need right now, you always come through, Betsy!
I get stuck in a rut of drawing everyone at 3/4 views and I really need to get out of that, I guess doing a storyboard/comic is the best way to crack it!Β
Don't worry about the comic, you've done something for the sake of it so I would call that progress myself, you're doing great!

betsyillustration , thank you for posting this great practice you did and the template you used!!! ^_^Β

I read your words, "And if you have any advice for drawing front up angle/worm's view in a simplistic style, I'd love to hear it. I can draw the 3D forms for that angle fine, but when I have to simplify it to a few lines (for the noses especially), it just fails hard," and started thinking about that.Β

It made me wonder if the inclusion of shadows- as in Audrey Hepburn's "Up Angle" photo reference- would be necessary, after all; or, if there really were ways one could use just a few lines (like you mentioned!) to convey the angle.Β

In my artwork- all the time!!- I mistakenly draw up or down angles on a person's face-- when I'd only intended to draw the front. O.O;; Thinking about that: my spacing between the mouth and chin, or between the eyebrows and top-of-head, are usually what miscommunicate. Perhaps there's a clue to answering your request, "drawing front up angle/worm's view in a simplistic style"; but I'd have to test it out to be sure!Β

I can't draw the face very well, but I keep practicing.
I just realized a few moments ago that I often try to build the head at the same angle over and over - an angle that encourages tangents!
This is so just what I needed to seee!
