Description
All the shadowbirds come from the Feather Dancer. When she dances, she falls into a state of mind and gives birth to the birds. The Shadowbirds are birds that carry the spirit of the dead to Sagawood and beyond.This image was another one that didn't scan well. The original looks great, but the scanned image needed to be adjusted.

Not watercolour! Coloured Pencil on Mylar! A painstakingly time consuming way to add colour to my line art but I do like the way it turns out!
Normally I'll add colour digitally.

coloured pencil on mylar. The scanner did such a lousey job on this one that I had to touch the sky up in Photoshop. So there's a tad of digital in it too!

I think you should make some of the birds that are farther back bluer or purpler (or both) and really use atmospheric perspetive to make it seem like the birds are all around the girl.

Yeah, scanners are evil. Sometimes I like to boost the colors up with a levels filter. My scanner is notorious for killing colors. This came out really colorful in spite of the scanner
