Description Folly means: engaging in a foolhardy activity, doing something stupid, destined for doom.
So why would anyone build a fully populated space station in an asteroid field?
For the same reason someone built a nuclear power station near a populated city in a renowned earthquake zone. What that reason is… I’ll leave for you to decide.

Don’t get me wrong. I feel sorry for the Japanese people. They’ve been hoodwinked into believing a nuclear power station on their doorstep was a safe thing. What I’m saying, I’m saying to everyone.
When you build a, potentially, dangerous structure in a, potentially, unstable area – Don’t build it near people and do have a contingency plan for WHEN it go tits up.

Excuse me,. I Was curious if I could use this image for a station on a wiki I am on. This is just what I'm looking for and I would be grateful.

Hi,

Just some questions before I say yes.

Do you want the posted 1280x853 pixel version or the 5400x3600 for sale version? What sort of wiki do you plan to use my picture on? Will you be making any money of your wiki? and will you be providing links and credit to me for the picture?

Well, the image will be resized to the Infobox. I just need the URL.

The wiki is Sci-fi and will be used as the Space Station capital of Humanity. The use of it is non-commercial.

And Yes, I will place a link to your account on the wiki's image page.

Actually, I like this plan.

Considering the intertia each asteroid field has, and thus each asteroid in it has, such a place might be not as dangerous as the image implies. But yet, it depends on many factors.

This station reminds me of the ship in the early 80ies anime titled "Odysseus 31" ...

Nice picture - regardless of the message.
