Anyhow, bad news first: The tinge of red is a bit too "hot" (light) for my liking. Just a notch towards burgundy (or blood-red, they're somewhere around the same quarters in my head) would be perfect. The blurring also seems like a minor waste of good linework. Those are just personal preference though. What aren't are the ever-so-slight gill-like quality of the transversal abdominal muscles (the ones on the sides) and the very slender bases of the wings. or, well, at least those are less abstract, whether or not they're problems is again preference.
I love the skulls though. great lines, angular and strong, and great slightly dirty color. Basically all not mentioned above seems better than I feel is average. The proportions, highlighting the stature and power, are especially pleasing.

We always have to keep in mind of what we're trying to portray when it comes to lighting, color and other design elements. The red was intentionally that warm because it works better to portray rage, and we wanted the demon to have a more intense shade of red to go along with his disposition here. That does the same with the lines. We can't be too self indulgent when trying to achieve what we're trying to do.
That also goes with his physique. I wanted something that would be typically beautiful or "perfect" The world record holder for world's greatest physique had a similar build; thin waist with really girthy arms and a wide back.

As I said, it's a matter of preference. I can see that the demon is agitated (to say the very least), but feel that a slightly darker tinge would compliment that better. This one looks, to me, more like the colour of a red rose. Still, an opinion, you can't please everyone about everything. And after all, I think the piece is excellent.

To be honest, I think it would be a different story if there was higher contrast here, but Mando is good for not doing that, and I wish it wasn't the case. Still, I'm happy with it.
